Title: PE PLUS MULTIGAME - DROP IN - DOOR OPEN THEN
Post by: GOS on August 14, 2014, 07:46:45 AM
i have an IGT PE PLUS - DROP IN (not a sitdown)  - when I started on it - the machine showed door open error - tested the optics for the main lid and they are good (changed them out as well) - the bv door switch is bypassed - in TEST MODE - the DOOR OPEN shows a 1 - closing the door - stays on 1 - when I block out the front panel optic - the DOOR OPEN shows 0/1 so rapid can't tell 1 from 0.  After I tried the hopper test which worked - now I get CALL ATTENDANT coin in time out and also show 20 coins played - CREDIT 4958  -  almost sounds like I need to a cmos clear?

in TEST MODE - the DOOR OPEN shows a 1 - closing the door - stays on 1 - when I block out the front panel optic - the DOOR OPEN shows 0/1 so rapid can't tell 1 from 0.

So far that sounds normal.  The machine should show a steady "1" on the self-test inputs screen when a door is open, and should alternate rapidly between 1 and 0 when all doors are closed.  The 1/0/1/0/1/0 rapid alternating display is because the optics are pulsed, and that is normal behavior.

Depends.  Was the machine set up for 20 coin play, and a hopper limit greater than 4958?  If so, then there's nothing wrong there (save for the coin-in timeout error).  If not, then yeah, you might want to clear if you have the chip to do so, or try and change games to force the machine to reset its settings.

Coin-in timeout is related to the coin-in optics.  If in your testing you removed the coin-in assembly (the coin chute with the coin comparator and optics) and did not replace it, this would be a typical error to see.

Is the coin-in assembly in place right now?  If so, what does your self-test inputs screen show for coin detectors A, B, and C?  Normal operation should have each of those reporting "1", and they should turn to "0" very briefly only as a coin goes through and blocks the optics, then quickly return to a steady "1".  If the assembly is in place, ensure that it is seated properly so that the beau plug is making its connection between the coin-in assembly and the machine.
