Title: help needed identifying Bally slot
Post by: bally bob on September 07, 2015, 12:48:17 PM
Have attached a couple of pictures of a Bally slot I picked up the other day. The tag has been removed. On the reel mech it has 873 and on the hopper 1090 with a magic marker. The hopper has the coin float. Any help identifying it is appreciated.

Well it's not an 873. That's a 5 coin, 5 line machine. A 1090 has a larger hopper. Yours is looking like an 800 series because of the hoppers size. What is your machine, single line payout, or
Multi line.

I would guess it started out as an 785 double progressive based on the 2 reset locks on side of cabinet - and the glass and strips not being original bally - converted by ??

Single line payout. Glass says right to left, left to right.

Attached is a photo of the upper compartment. The 2 reset locks have the wires cut off, so are no longer active. I was wondering if this is Frankenstein creation. Which glass or glasses are not Bally?

I must agree it looks like a 785 I would not try to restore it would be nearly impossible to get those parts I would keep it the way it is it is a beautiful little machines make sure it works perfect and play it for years

So when you say 785 you mean the cabinet and components in the top compartment? The reel mech is probably from a 873 and the hopper from a 1090? Since that is how they are marked? And I agree will not try to restore back to what it was originally. Just make it work as is. Someone said not all the glasses were Bally which ones?

none of the parts in the top box appear to be original and probably everything has been rewired to what it is it is now A 3 coin multiplier it is a beautiful machine  but there's no paperwork is no way it to really figure out exactly what the wiring supposed to be after they wire oh my god it depends on who did the rewire job on it but your basic Bally's em manual has enough wiring information where there is a problem you should be able to fix it

reel mech is from a 809 not a 873 is 5 line,  its a cross between a 809  single line  and a 1090  left or right pay

Thanks for the help. No matter how it is wired shouldn't be much of a problem, since all the circuitry of these machines is relatively simple anyway.
