Over the years many topics in the S+ forum have been "stickied" by moderators and site staff as being important reference topics, however the sheer number of sticky posts has caused new messages to nearly disappear off the first page.  This FAQ/How-To link post aims to resolve that, by placing links to all of the previously stickied topics in one place for easy reference.  If you are new to the IGT S+, or want to refer to some frequently asked questions or guides, take a look here first to see if your questions can be answered by some of these previous topics:

Error resolution:
IGT S+ Error (Tilt) Codes and Resolutions - a link to common IGT S+ error codes and how to resolve them

NEWBIES: PLEASE DON'T CLEAR YOUR IGT S-PLUS SLOT - an explanation as to why using a RAM clear chip should be your last resort, not the first thing you try

IGT S+ RAM clear chip procedure - as mentioned above, this procedure should only be followed if you have been advised by a member of the forum that your machine needs a RAM clear -- typically most issues are resolved without the use of a clear chip

Machine does not completely power on:
No LED displays, no reel spin, burn mark on motherboard connection - if your S+ machine suddenly stopped showing signs of life, this is the likely culprit

Software:
IGT S+ Game Bible ("SS chip"/reel chip list) - a link to the list of many IGT S+ game titles, chip numbers, etc.

IGT S+ "SP" Chip List - a listing of all known SP (GAME) chips -- essentially the operating system of the machine
