wms 550 printer in dual screen

just pick up a wms 550 dual screen cash for cash , it has a printer in it also has the printer eproms, i cleared tested the printer  it does print test ticket  has printer com error ,what am i doing wrong in the set up ,this machine was pulled off the floor has casino seal on it , but its running the older board with the eprom extender on it , does it need a1.5 board to do this set up .the printer is mounted in the top box if that helps, it also  a Ithaca 750 printer  i have cleared machine but printer wont set up for ticket out
