Title: Button Panel Programming
Post by: Nashional on April 02, 2016, 12:34:54 PM
First time changing game. I have a button panel with 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and Rebet buttons so I entered this as an 11 button panel (it works for the game that came in the machine).

Now I'm trying to set up Black and White Quick Hits. I did everything correctly (I think), even including the progressive, but I can only bet one line and 10 cents. It's like it's expecting another row of buttons to select 20 rows first then 10.

What am I missing? How do I set this up with the button panel I have?

Being that you have a Elite button panel-Don't think you can.  There is no way to choose lines/bets for the old set up you are trying.  I think you can go in and select the higher button panel and it will let you do max bet using the 150/200 button.  Try that and if not you will have to put a old dual row deck in it.  I assume this is a five reel game-not three with multiple pay lines.  Some of the newer software allows you to use the elite panel.

You need a dual row button panel or an 11 button panel with a max bet button. If you have one of the panels, load up the game, disconnect the harness and plug in a harness that has the max bet button, press it once... Then switch back your harness with the elite button panel. Thats how I do it but I have a extra harness from a 14 that I keep around for the quick hit games.

Or you can find newer versions of the same game. Vegas has Blazing 7s 5 reel quick hit that had an elite panel and one with OLED deck. Also could tell it was newer software as the lights behind the reel were on the whole time like the newer games.

That is a great tip! Now I just need to find a wiring harness. But, I've lost my ability to post in the classifieds (thought I resolved that last month but I still can't)...

Do you swap the harnesses while the machine is hot (I'm assuming one side is buttons and the other side is lamps and you only swap the buttons connector)?

What I've done with all my elite button panels is that I just moved the rebet switch pin to the max bet switch pin on the molex connector.  That way it works with all games if I want to swith to a lower bet scheme, I just press the other buttons.  You will need the molex pin extractor, or take your chances with a pair of VERY thing flathead screwdrivers to remove the pin, or just cut and re-pin.  I forget which pin was the maxbet button, but it is easy to enough to trace from a harness that has it.

I will take photos of an unmodified harness and a modified harness for future reference so everyone can just move the pin over if they so desire.

Great suggestion too. Still need to find a harness...

So, I've made a jumper cable with pin. If anyone can let me know the max bet pinout location I should be able to wire this right up. (I'll remove the original wires from the rebet button and wire it up to this jumper cable. That way I don't need to modify any original parts.)

I will post a picture of the location tonight when I get home and after all my "honey I'm home" duties go fulfilled.

Sorry, too many honey do's last night never got around to this.

The picture with the red probe is the Repeat bet button.  The one with the black probe is the max bet button.  Just move the pin over the one spot and you should be good to go for all games.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot as soon as I can.

Made a new cable that connects to the two b/w wired button connectors for the big rebet button and attached the other end to a female pin connector in the spot located in your picture and it works. I haven't tested it with the game that had the issue that started this, but it bets max for the game that's in there now (although it did before using the old wiring). So I'm certain this will work with any game.

Thanks again!

You can push one of the lower bet buttons and then push the big button to make sure it switches back to bet max.  The old way would have just rebet the lower bet button you pressed before.

Just tested the original game in question and this resolved the issue.  :cool_thumb_up: :hail:
