Title: Nascar
Post by: 777sizzler on April 12, 2014, 06:39:23 PM
I have been into this for about thirty years or so.  Big fan of it .  I, from the get go was always a Mark Martin fan over all the years.  The greatest Driver and smart on top of that .  He never won a cup or tittle but the best in my opinion.  I wish the old man would consider one more run at it. As far as Nascar goes He is my hero.  Go back to Roush and bring back the Valvoline #6----- Just a nascar vent--Sorry-  :arrowthruhead: .

I've always liked Mark and have a lot of respect for his driving abilities. I've been an Elliott fan since the early 80's. Since he retired, I inherited his replacement, Kasey Kahne. I was really pulling for Mark a few years ago when he had such a good year and was really close on points.

I hate to admit being this old, but I remember when Dale Sr. was a rookie.  I started watching it as a kid, when you only got 2-3 races a year on tv.  I live really close to Texas motorspeedway, but rarely go to the race, due to the traffic  nightmare  it creates.

I too am a HUGE Nascar fan. I have been to a few of the Phoenix races. Nothing like experiencing it Live. I also raced dirt track stockcars her for ten years. Senior got me into the sport and I latched on to Jeff Gordon his rookie year and have been a fan ever since. Would like to go to Las Vegas race one year.

Funny, I'm close to TMS too, over in Highland Village. You should come by sometime so I can show off my shop. :)

Hey guys, Most tracks have a driving experience. When I was in Orlando, Fl. a few years back with my wife on her business we where going to drive to Daytona and I was going to do the Richard Petty driving experience. To many cocktails the night before canceled that trip but I was alright with it since I had spent years racing on the local dirt tracks so I kind of know the feeling. Check it out at TMS and I am sure they have the same packages that I looked into. There are ride along and drive packages depending on what you want to spend.

The best experience I ever had at a track was the very first race for Texas Motor Speedway, lap one, turn one a big car wreck, #3 Dale Earnhardt's car got all tore up, made my day !!!! By the way Jeff Burton won his first cup race that day.

Traffic, if there was no traffic going to a track that would mean no fans showed up, wouldn't be much of a race would it. I've been to 6/8 different tracks and all of them have a traffic problem. IMO none of them compare to rush hour LA traffic twice a day.

I like NASCAR racing, but damn... the fans treat #3 as if he were their Redneck Jesus. I have a hard time feeling sorry since he died protesting the very device that would've saved his life.

Jimmy Johnson and Tony Stewart are my #1 and #2 favorites. I'm also BIG fans of ANYONE who beats those douchebag Busch "twins", DEjr, and Jeff Gordon.

Still say best driver to never win a cup tittle---Hands down.  #6 Valvoline.--- :propeller:

I always liked Mark Martin, class act... As for Morgan Shepard, I think it's time to stop driving in Cup.. There are a bunch of other classes of racing for him to continue to race, Nationwide, Arca, Dirt tracks... I would sure like to see Nascar cut the field size back to 36 cars.. I sure I'm not the only person that's tired of these field filler cars that run 10-20 laps then park it to get a check... If you can't keep up, then keep it on the trailer...  :soapbox_3:  :thank_you:
