Title: Cinevision cabinet with reels
Post by: arnold on June 29, 2016, 05:23:58 PM
I have a cinevision cabinet with reel money game.  Are the reels the same width as the upright cabinets?  They seemed wider to me for some reason.  Will post pics when I get back home.  I am just thinking ahead because one of the reels keeps giving an error.  Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Arnold

Moved reel from 5 to 4 and trouble followed.  Possibly need one new reel.  How do the reel strips get moved from one to the other?  The pic is not my game, just example i found on this site.

Thanks,
Arnold

The Cinereels are wider than the upright 5 reel, but narrower than the upright 3 reel.  If the problem follows the reel, then it's the reel controller board on the reel itself.  These go bad from time to time as it has happened a couple of times to my machines.  The controller is the same in the 3 reel and the 5 reel uprights, I don't see any reason to believe they would be different on the cinevisions.  If you can't source a cinevision reel, you coud buy an upright reel and harvest the reel controller board.  There should be a PCBA number on the board, post it so we can verify if it is the case.

Alpha reels are notorious for having the pins push back into the connector. I would check them thoroughly before replacing any hardware.
