Title: TITO HELP for game King 6.2 044
Post by: sacain67 on October 08, 2016, 04:06:48 PM
Key chip 28, installed TITO, insert bills, and machine works.  But when I hit payout it says hand pay call attendent and ticket does NOT print.  I checked all settings and I think they are all right.  Run printer check through machine diagnostics and printer works by printing fake ticket.  Any ideas?  Thanks,  Scott

Did you enable the printer?  It is not enabled by default.

This is my thread regarding the TITO settings.  I did not cover enabling the printer, but it should be under machine options.

Yes I did.  I can't figure it out.

Then it has to be either:

1.  Tito settings are wrong.
2.  Tito board is not communicating with your game because it is either bad, or installed incorrectly.

Can you post a picture of how you installed the TITO board?

Make sure you have the ribbon wire harness from the back plane board to the other metal box (not sure what the proper name is).  This would be the same box that the TITO plugs into. This is needed for communication.

Some machines I come across do not have this harness.

Definitely check that.  My machine did not have the harness.

However, it should be noted that the ticket printer should at least PRINT tickets without the harness.  My machine printed tickets just fine without the harness and Bettor TITO installed.  The bill validator will just not accept tickets without a TITO and harness installed for system validation.

I have verified ribbon cable and went through key chip and set up again.  Scoured the game set up.  I cant figure it out!  I looked into all of the settings because when it pays out it says call attendant. handpay.  I noticed in the machine options set up screen, that lists everything, that under pay out option it says none selected.  Is this what it should say or do I need to adjust that option?  It can only be changed in key chip menu.  I am at a loss.  Thanks Scott   Does anyone know if a faulty Bettor TITO could result in this problem of call attendant hand pay while everything else works?

I also would like to add that I had the Bettor TITO set up for the legacy... for the service button to give me 10000 credits and that does not work either.  I don't know if the 2 issues are related.  Thanks,  Scott

Any lack of communication to/from the SAS Device (Bettor Tito) would cause the handpay.  The game tries to validate the outgoing ticket by contacting the SAS Host, if it cannot communicate, it will trigger a handpay.  So either your settings are wrong, TITO is not properly installed (bad cable, no power), Tito board is bad.  When you power up the game, do lights start flashing in the BETTOR TITO board?

Yes the Bettor tito is plugged into the auxillary outlet so it stays powered on. Red led is on on both levels of b.t. and one small amber light is flickering on both as well.  New piece of information.  when I first go into key chip 28 menu under pending tilts, it says "validation system failure"  Everything else works on the machine perfectly.  I can also print a demo ticket in diagnostics, but when cashing out credits I get hand pay only.  Thanks,  Scott

UPDATE!!!  Jim at Bettor TITO is fantastic!  Personally called me and walked me through everything to help diagnose the problem!  Sending me new board and other parts to try.  Went way "beyond" what he needed to do.  I am sure he will help me get this working!  I would highly recommend Bettetor Slots!!!! Thanks Again Jim!  Scott

Yep he helped me fix it. It had to do with the Velcro not providing enough distance away from the chassis.  All good now. Thanks

For the benefit of someone who may see this thread in the future, can you elaborate on what you did to fix the issue?   :propeller:

What I did is cut a small rectangle of 1/4 " mdf wood about the same size as the Tito board and mounted that to the chassis using heavy duty 3m mounting tape that you can buy at Home Depot. Then I mounted the Velcro that comes with the Tito onto that. Because the Tito board just has Velcro on the back side of the board, if you mount it directly to the chassis as illustrated in the directions, there is a chance some of the solder from the back of the board will contact or nearly contact the chassis. Jim told me he has seen this before. Bottom line is somehow put an insulator between the board and the mounting position in your machine.
