Title: Vision Slant-top to 4-reel Haywire?
Post by: SuperSlots on November 18, 2016, 07:41:45 PM
I currently have a Vision (S2000 w/ LCD box) that is one of the lamer, less interesting games.

I'd like to know if it's possible to convert this unit to one of the 4-reel Haywire games, and if so, where I might be able to get the parts. I know a new reel shelf and other hardware will be required... Can it be done?

I was a slot technician (advanced level) back in the day, so I'm not afraid of these machines and understand the concepts, but I don't think I ever did a conversion from three reel to four reel.

Any help appreciated!

So, are you saying your removing the monitor? If yes, I might be interested in another spare. What game theme? Might be interested in glass, strips, chips, and data card. I am sure one of the parts suppliers on here can hook you up. 4 reel Haywire might be tough

That game can easily (laborwise) be switched to any standard 3, 4 or 5 reel game. For a 4 or 5 reel setup you would need the reels, shelf, reel harness (4 and 5 use the same one), possibly a backlight controller depending on what you have, maybe a new player tracking panel if your current setup has the printer next to the reels and a long reel glass display if this is the case. All vision equipment is easily stripped out of the cabinet including the wiring harness.

Hope this helps

I suppose I should add that a lot of the 4 and all of the 5 reel games were multi line, multi bet per line setups, so changing the button deck to a ten button may be necessary also. In short, can it be done? Of course! Is it always cost effective? No!
Swapping to standard 3 reel games is easiest and most cost effective
