If you get one, let me know how it is to install. I heard its a pain!

Patriot gaming has it for $650 but I am not sure if it comes with the window or 7 seg display which is required.

@ coolwavepic: Is it really so hard to install it? I thought i only have to change it with my actually "normal" LCD-Screen...? :Scratch-Head:

Thanks a lot!

Because the alpha 2 door comes up that it will be tricky to change. That's what I heard. Keep us posted on your progress. I want to do the conversion as well.

So, I took a 3 reel Alpha pro 2 and installed the curve assembly in it in minutes. The 2 screws that hold the reel glass assembly are the only screws that hold the curve assembly. It would use your existing power harness, DVI cable but would need a different touchscreen cable that is not included with the curve assembly. It would also need a power harness to light up the Bally logo at the top of the display. Attached is  the touchscreen controller it has and a few of the display and of the reel glass that came out.

I will do $650 plus shipping to match Patriot. Yes, the 7 segment display is included. Lemme know..

David -  It sounds like the conversion is easier than what I was told. I heard it was a two man job...lol

Thanks for the great information! I'll have move this on my priority list of items to get.

Seems pretty easy, of course I went from a true 3 reel but I heard the reel to standard 22" monitor is pretty easy so from 22" to curve should be no problemo. I'm sure plenty of people know what touchscreen cable is. I don't have one but will be needing one myself. Also, the logo light cable is only 2 pin, I will see what header it comes from. Shouldn't be hard to make if it's hard to find.
If time permits I will see if I can get some numbers off of cables in one we have in the casino.

When you have a alpha 2 pro 22/22 cabinet-The conversion is as easy as can be with all the proper stuff.  Done it in (taking my time) 15 minutes.  The pain conversion one was the alpha 1 to conversion to alpha 2 -Many mods were needed there but it works as well.

As Berry was saying, The BA-1 has a 20" monitor. So home made/special bracket are needed for the alpha 1. The Alpha 2 is a direct fit.

Thanks for all your help; especially to you David for your detailled information about that curved screen :applause:

But i´am wondering a little bit because on one picture it seems that you have to install complete reel assemblies. I thought that you do not need any physical reels and that the curved LCD display simulates them. Am i wrong?  :Scratch-Head:

And i´am a little afraid of the missing wire for the touch screen controller and the Bally-Logo lighting. Maybe somebody have it available?

Thanks again and many greetings, Dennis

The physical reels are not needed, on the picture I had removed the reel glass assembly but did not remove the physical reels as it was only for demonstration.

Hello David,

ok, i understand; thanks a lot. But i'am still not sure what to do about that missing harnesses. If i could not find them the complete screen will be "worthless" maybe :Scratch-Head:

I own a Bally Alpha 2 pro now for some month and i could only say it's a great machine. The games are great, the design and especially the animated LED lighting :dancing_2:

I prob. have all the harnesses-not that many.  Only problem is all this stuff is packed on a pallet to go to Utah-Be a while before I could get to it.

Installed the Curve for the first time today. That monitor is heavy. In order to secure it in the door you have to align the 2 pins in top of the door with the holes in the top of the monitor, then align the 2 screw holes at the bottom with the holes in the frame of the monitor.  In my case the screw holes were a bit off so had to carefully pull the monitor out from the top pins while in the horizontal position.  Not that easy to do.  Would be easier with 2 people doing this.  Also, had to make several cables to make it complete since the cables that come with the machine only gets you half way there.

Looks good! I had a feeling it's not that easy to do but able to do it if your careful. Is the monitor and the glass one unit right?

Yes, 1 assembly. But the front (3) pieces are kind of clamped in place with adjustable foam rubber lined clips.  Not the sturdiest way, but as long as pressure is applied, it works.  Just have to be careful not to mess up the touch screen.  I added touch screen tape all around to sandwich it all together.

Congratulation idesign for your conversion...you have done a great job...it looks really awesome :1:

I still would like to do that conversion as well, but i have not found a solution for the wiring until now. Do you have a picture from the wiring maybe especially from the touch screen controler?

Thanks a lot

Sorry, no photos available.  It's pretty crowded in there upside down.  Touch screen controller wiring is just 12V connection, and RS-232 cable, nothing special.  Same power for the Bally background light board.  7 Segment display wiring is standard power connector and USB.  Power board has a connector on it just for that purpose.

Matt, That is the curve monitor part.  Inside is just a monitor with a projector.  That rig is missing 5-6 Pieces from being a assembley and I question the seller.  First the frame is not there, 2nd the light board,  3rd the touch screen panel, 4th the glass, 5th all the wiring and touch screen controller (it's external mount on these).  Now,  IF the monitor works properly it would be worth 150-200 for a back up.  Also I think I missed a few pieces!.  A locked and loaded one -with Everything needed usually goes for 800 or so----If you can find one.  Oh yea,  The lower display also!.

Yep,  Back in the time these were 1200-to-1K!!!! (used).  Had 3 back then.  Have gotten 3 more and used one-Brand new in the box from the factory conversion kits. I would not sell my brand new ones for 1200!!!.  650 is a good buy for used.
