Hi!
I just swapped the key chip (again!) and am about to tweak the settings, and am wondering:
What's the standard progressive increase percentage?
I set my nickel video poker for a progressive with 50 coins played starting at $2,000. Sound reasonable?
Thanks,
s.

According to people from a different forum, the most casinos will set for their progressives is 1%, with other settings far less, such as 0.125%
Also, because I have an older IGT, setting a 50-credit game—and its slow counting—was ridiculous, so I went back to setting a 5-credit nickel progressive at $200.

The casino will typically use 0.00005 as the increment percentage.
So for 8 quarters (200 pennies) it goes up 1c.
I typically run mine as 0.04 so for each quarter it goes up 1c.
Truth be told I don't trust my wiring at the best of time so seeing the progressive increment everytime I add a coin is reassurance its working...... :rotfl:

A little late, but thought I could provide some input..
I currently work at a very large casino that has a constant stream of new games, so I get to see a wide variety of progressive attributes. Although 1% may be typical for an older $1 game, it is not a standard or even a max. I have seen $1 games with as high as 2% increment. For base settings on older games (S6K, S2K, etc..) it is typical to start the progressive (reset amount) at the top base game win, so if your max win is $2000, it is common to see the progressive start there. I'd say anywhere between .25% and 1% is reasonable in this case.
For calculating accrual I find it reassuring to use a custom calculator.. Excel has all the functions to make a very reliable calculator based on coin-in, or whatever mech your progressive uses as its funding source.

Thanks for the perspectives, everyone!
I'll probably set my boards at the different levels suggested to give them a little variety!

Since this is just for home entertainment, I set my progressive minimum or reset amount at $2k and the contribution percentage at 50%. I want to see rapid growth $$$$$
