Hello All,
I just bought a Bally E-2278 5 cent slot and it is not working. The lights and fan power on but the LED display is blank and apparently power is not going to any boards? I tested loops on the power supply board and there is no power on the 3 test points. All the fuses are good, is there a way to test to see if power is coming into the board before I look into buying a power supply board?

even though the fuses check good - could be a bad fuse holder. on the power supply the bottom 2 wires blue/yellow? i believe is the 10v input and that connection usually go bad .

Remove the power supply plug and check the header it plugs into for any burnt pins. If burnt you may need to replace the connector.
Your power supply has a IDC connector. Get a thin blade screw driver and press each of the wires firmly into the IDC blades on the connector.
IDC = Insulation Displacement Connector.
Worst case, if there is burnt pin, I can make you a Molex connector that will plug into the power supply header and you can cut off the IDC connector and wire nut in the new connector.

I would remove your fuse block assembly and check the fuse holders. I have had some go bad inside where the can connects. Also make sure to check the fuses with a meter. I have had fuses look good, but test bad on my meter. Lastly check the condition of the machines power cord where it goes under the machine. I bought a machine once where the seller said it quit working. I found two of the 3 power cord wires broken under the machine.

Removed fuse assembly and everything tested good, thank you Amechanic.
GOS you are correct Wire 1 and 2 or the Blue/yellow wires are the power wires, thank you!
Removed the power supply plug by transformer and ohmed out blue/yellow wires from plug to idc connector, open circuit.
Pushed wire into IDC blades, ohmed out again, and WALAH!!, we have a connection. Put connectors back, plugged in and flipped the switch, we have power!! Thank you Badbaud!!
Put coins in and solenoid activated by lever, pulled lever and everything worked! Yay!! Hopper turned for a while and TILT light came on, I wonder if it is because I don't have coins in the hopper?
Glad to get to this point, I will work on it some more tomorrow and will try to proceed further.
Thanks everyone for your help!

If you hit a payout and didn't have enough coins in the hopper it will tilt and should show a code 31 or 32 I forget which one. You will need to clear the tilt with the reset on the hopper board.

Okay, I'll try it. Thank You!
