Title: bypassing photo interupter switch
Post by: alrolon800 on March 21, 2018, 01:13:37 PM
I would like to trick the BV into thinking the cash tray is installed. I believe the photo optic switch is bad and don't want to wait a week for a new one to come in. can any one help me please. it's a 1/6" slotted photo interrupter.

Other than disabling the BV in the programming I'm not aware of any bypasses. Have you tried turning the machine on with the BV power harness unplugged?
On the other hand, I've never heard of your problem coming up before either. Are you sure the can is seated and latched securely?

why would I unplug it?? I just want to see if it works so I can buy an upgraded BV. my machine is working great with quarters. BV doesn't so im gonna order 10 photo optics just to use one. Does that makes sense??  better than buying a BV and have the problem be something else and then be stuck with 2 BV's, just looking for someone to tell me how to bypass it and make it send the signal thru. I guess I will buy a some new photo sensors and wait for them to come in from china. and cash can seats perfectly and moves lever across the photo optic slot.

last thread was for wiring configuration.  found that cashbox switch and wires are not used because there is a photo optic switch that is additionally built into the back of this bill validator. Checked it and the lever that gets pushed in by the cashbox is moving and blocking sensor slot properly. this is a new post to see if I can get help bypassing the sensor. I feel the sensor or the optical switch as many here call it is bad because BV does not spin at startup, no lights at the bill acceptor and takes bills slowly probably indication cash can is not installed even though it is.

I was inferring you could unplug it to continue using the machine till you got parts to fix it. Not get rid of it

machine works fine with it plugged in. just machine doesn't recognize it
I believe is because BV doesn't see cash bin and wont initialize.  I ordered 1/6" Slot PCB Photo Interrupters from amazon. hope to get them Saturday.  It will take like five minutes to change out. I will post if fixed problem.
