Title: Aristocrat Mk6 Players World - system and set chips
Post by: blairthomas on June 17, 2018, 08:41:01 PM
Hello,
Does anybody know what system and set chips Players World needs, I got the expansion board and game roms without any sys chips.
It has 10 game chips so I'm using the expansion board, also does anybody know what the switch pot is on the expansion board, I've always wondered, its set to 0 on all my expansion boards.

Board - Mk6 XP with expansion board and 2nd video board.
So far I've tried system 01.04.11 and set chip 06.03.04I can get through clearing the SRAM then setting up the Jurisdiction and money settings, when I remove the set chips and reboot machine. It comes up with Game Eprom not found.
Menu setup settings would be fantastic, Multi Line. etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
CheersBlair

"Game EPROM not present" sounds like the expansion board isn't allowing the game to load, or maybe one of them isn't seated properly (hopefully they haven't been erased or fried). Usually when u11 or u21 can't be loaded it will have that error - with any other chips it will cause a checksum error instead. Of course, something dumb like having the chips in the wrong place like u21 in u11's place and vice versa will also cause that to happen. :)

Not being the brightest bulb on the tree, take this for what it's worth.   Since you indicated that you have more than one XP board, put the chips from the board you have issues with, onto another board.  If the problem follows, you know it is one of the chips.

Thanks guys. Other games work in the mainboard and expansion board. I thought it might be incorrect system
chips for the game and thats why it couldnt read the game chips. I will double check the game chips, and
try another main and expansion board. Just in case.

will let you know.
Cheers

I don't know much about MK6 USA platform, but if it's anything like MK5 the game's Machine Identification menu should show which set chip version it requires (once it finally boots that is). I have a feeling you have some of the latest for that platform so they should be OK (again, if they are anything like MK5 set chips, they should also be backward compatible with games which expected earlier chips).
