Title: Nexgen fooler board
Post by: RubySlipperLover on July 09, 2018, 01:41:11 PM
Okay, I understand the basics of tse you basically get it from goldfish and can use it as a filler. What the difference between that and this nexgen fooler I see on eBay? Is the only difference that it doesn’t have a cf card slot so it can’t run games like goldfish? Anyone who has the details? I’d greatly appreciate the answers.

Well you can't use those fooler boards for bb1 games that are dual screens.  I have one of those foolers on my bb2 cabinet that I use to play blade games as well.  It has worked with everything bb2/bb3 that needed a fooler board so far.  I have never used a tsetse for blade games, though I believe they work just as well.  If you can't find a tsetse, this is another alternative.

Thanks man I definitely will say your one of the best on here to answer these type of questions. I really want to do the cpu nxt 3.2 thing but I think I’m gonna have to give it some time so the prices on it and the games come down just a little. I look at the prices on nxt 3 and even used doesn’t go below 750. If it were to drop to say... 600, Id be the proud owner of a bb3 conversion. My only problem is I do have a lot of bb2 games I enjoy. How hard is it to switch back and forth?

Between bb2 and blade games?  Switch out the MPU's. Plug Aux power harness into CPUNXT3.x box,  plug the top monitor through the DVI connector (as opposed to VGA for BB2) and you load and configure the blade game the same way as a bb2 game.  Not difficult at all.  Buzzarama was selling cpunxt 3.5's for $475 about 2 weeks ago, that would have been a good jump in price point for you, LOL.  The games cost about the same when you consider that all BB3 games are dongle based games.  When you step back and think about it logically (about as logically as this hobby allows), the BB2 platform has better games in my opinion.  There are only a handful of bb3 games that are worth it, and they are often the difficult ones to get (i.e. Willy Wonka, Zeus 1000, to name a couple).  I basically got into bb3 when I got my bb2 cabinet because it was a relatively easy conversion and it opened up the possibility of a bigger library.  I now have about 50 blade games.  I like to have games with different play mechanics, so the variety there can add up.  Some play mechanics I really like, so I buy whatever I can find that has that play type like colossal reels.  On most other game types I just pick the ones that have the most visually appealing graphics to me and go from there.  As you have probably come to know by your own experience, this hobby has a tendency to really get out of hand fast as you go from one platform to the next, but I guess that's part of the reason we like it so much.

Rick couldn’t be more spot on with his response.  BB2 games definitely have more of a warm fuzzy to them than BB3, but there are a few BB3 games to kill for.

10 years ago, I thought one Yamasa pachislo was going to be all anyone could ever want.  Lol!

Sorry I’ve been out of the loop but... :agreepost: yes I’ve noticed I started of with, “If I just had ruby slippers I wouldn’t need ANYTHING else”. Then it was, “well I have to get the classics that aren’t in the casino anymore.” Then “Well I HAVE to get the really good newer games I like while I search for the classics.” I’ve just erased the damn invisible line by now. And I know I’ll do the same thing on NXT 3 games and really break myself because the majority games I have are non dongle and this means I’ll be spending a lot more money when I do this. But for now I’m going to get a tse get all the monopoly games I’ve been waiting to get and the very few non monopoly tse required games lol WOZ 1 then I’ll be back on track for the conversion.
