Title: S plus only accepts 2 coins
Post by: jchaney0507 on August 13, 2018, 02:59:21 PM
So I was in the dreaded 61 loop and I was forced to do a clear chip along with the 15 prom so make the bill valiadtor work.  Well everything worked as expected but I can only play 2 quarters which is the max bet.  There is also no other read out from the other displays.  It will not accept a bill it only kicks it back out.  Also there is no sound except for when the reels stop.  What am I missing?

The S+ Slot does not allow credits to be added once you insert your max coin played. Being a 2 coin game, that’s all you can play. The S2000 machine can be setup to build credits by adding coins. The S+ doesn’t have that option.
Have you checked you display bulbs for coin insert and accepted? As for you sound, if you have a 10Mhz Board, then your volume control is a blue wheel located on the top of your MPU board. Try turning it to increase your volume.

Use SP1137 if you want inserted coins to go to credit.

Is the SP1137 a game prom?  What sounds should the machine make?

I have no idea what any of that means... how should I test my sound

There is a dip switch on your mother board (very small switches) on my IGT S+ these switches control my max hopper pay, reel sound, game cycle, progressive machine, link progressive type, and stand alone progressive type.

The sound is the only one you care about at this point but my reel sound options are -reel stop only- and - spin and reel stop sound.

I will try and send a pic, but if your hearing a noise when reels stop then the audio seems to be working, sound can be turned up if there is a  round nob on top of your board in back of machine. It turns left and right (volume up and volume down)

Taking the board out is not hard at all, just lift up, some times they are in there pretty good but it will lift rocking back and forth works but i try to lift straight up when possible.

My sound is working, I was able to get the volume turned up, very sensitive.  I now understand my game will only accept two coins during game play but I still have not been able to check if there is an issue with my bill validator.  I have not came across older bills to try.  It only spits back whatever I put in.

I recently posted a video under (why my bills keep spitting back out) was having the same issue. Is your light on on the validator, have you tried taking the cash box out and placing it in?

Also make sure the cash box wires are good, my cash box wires are tied together on one of my machines and this works just fine as well.

You can still find older 50's and 100's at the bank. But for testing a 1 dollar bill is always good. They never changed

They all should take singles.

New Jersey used to have a quirk in their gaming laws that banned machines from accepting $1 bills, so your bezel may say that it only accepts $5 to $100, but it's dependent on how the DBV is programmed, or more likely which DIP switches are flipped on it (the bill validator head, not the MPU board) to determine what it will accept or reject.
