hi all
Got a error 81 today checked the battery it had 4v. I’ve rebuilt the power supply, I can get the reels to spin. What else can I check
-
Have you tried doing a clear procedure on your game. Your 81 code might not clear till that is done?
-
yes i did a full clear. i got the dreaded 82 code when i turned it off with the door open but it cleared. but the 81 battery low code stayed

4 volts is an oddball battery voltage. Are you sure the meter didn't say .4 volts? If so it needs replacing.
-
Now it reads 4.12v it’s about 3 months old
-
What are you using for a battery? It should be around 3.60 on a new battery.
-
It’s a ni-mh 3.6v 150mah
-
I don't think you can ever measure 4 volts on a 3.6 volt battery. Something's wrong. Are you measuring it with the machine power turned on? If not then try a different meter.
Is it only 3 months old because you replaced it recently? Is it installed correctly with positive terminal connected to + side on the board?

These style Green Varta battery’s have 2 solder points in the Neg side and only 1 on the Pos + Side. It’s impossible to install them backwards like the 1/2 AA Battery on other boards.

I’ve seen many batteries charge over the stated volts. But anyway the slot played fine after I rebuilt the power supply and replaced the battery then we had it off for about a week then we turned it on and it threw the 81 code. Then when you turn it off with the door open it throws a 82 and 50 so I cleared it but the 81 comes back. I did pull the board and resolder the battery but that did nothing.
-
I've checked everything i can think of any other ideas?

When you rebuilt your PS, did you check the voltage outputs, and what were they? Maybe ones off? I know I rebuilt my 2 spares with new 5V PS units. I had to adjust they voltage output up to the 5.16V under load as required because the factory adjustment was measuring only around 4.95V. Just a thought.
-
Yes I checked unload 5.15 24 and 12
Now I can’t get rid of the 82 code

i think something on the board is bad i'm going to call k lar and send the board in next week.
