Title: Igt Trimline machines.. What's you option??
Post by: Amechanic on December 29, 2018, 07:17:08 PM
I have a question for our NLG group.. I was wondering what people think of the IGT Trimline machines? I have a opportunity to pick up a couple, but I don't know crap about them.. Are they home user friendly, hard to setup, dependable??

The trimline is fairly good for core IGT games. But there are some things to consider.
*What brainbox is in it? They came with 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0. If it is a 2.0 I would shy away from it as they are getting harder and harder to support and fairly expensive to upgrade to a 3.0.  The 2.0 takes a 9800 pro or HD3650 video card as where 3.0 is on board video.

*What games are you wanting to play? There are a lot of games that are supported on the trimline but you will have trouble if you are used to widescreen games as these are 19" non wide screen monitors.

The trimline was designed to be the "core" machine on AVP platform as in a filler, a machine to put all the generic games on that casinos seem to need. There isn't a lot of flashiness to them. They were preceded by the plain Jane G20. There are still a lot of Trimlines in casinos nationwide and that is mostly due to a lot of games that were emulated from i960 and 044 on AVP platform were not remade in ported versions so they have to keep what they have or lose that game.

They are pretty dependable overall, has an open PCB I/O mounted to the door, Open PCB amp mounted to the side of the bill acceptor housing. Takes a 300W power supply. You can do multi-game like on other AVP machines. Can take all the standard bill acceptors, printers etc. If it isn't Dynamic button then the static buttons are gamesman or IL 3/4×3/4 buttons.

Gotta haves are the same as other AVP's- Diagnostic tool, ekey, boot chips, OS thumb drive, game thumb drive and license dongle.
I will see if I can upload some  reading materials

I think these are the 2.0 version from what I understand. I tried looking on line for any for sale, and didn’t have much luck. I can pickup a few up for cheap. I just don’t want to buy junk.

2.0's aren't necessarily junk but do have limitations, what is cheap?

Also, what games are you looking to play?

That is pretty cheap. Any idea if they come with any software?

You can play pretty much anything in them that doesn't require a 3.0 minimum, doesn't require widescreen or video requirements above the 9800 or 3650 video card.
Games like:
Wolf Run, Coyote Moon, Dangerous Beauty, Cats, Texas Tina, Cleopatra, list goes on and on. Emulated and Ported games.

There is no Trimline machine that can't be revived. (Unless you are a "AVP Royale" right FoRrHouse) Myself along with many others on here will be a good support system for them.

I wish I was closer to you, i have dealt with over 300 of the Trimline creatures.

I’ll know more about them when they come in. I was just informed about them today. I was looking for some S2000 machines when these were presented to me.
