Does anyone have ideas for help with my Ceronix 1493 monitor? After some playing, my screen would turn pinkish-red, then go completely dark. I could play for some time after turning on the machine, but now it turns pinkish-red upon startup. Sometimes it goes dark before I can even play one game.
Interestingly, one time the screen became pinkish-red, but then reverted to back to normal!
My friend thinks something is simply loose. Last year, he recapped it, and replaced the flyback. It was working fine except when I sometimes jarred the machine, and the screen would flicker pinkish-red for a brief moment.
Any ideas on what could be loose—or could it be some other issue?

The transistor for the red color amplifier gets so hot that it can fail but it's heat also causes the PC traces connected it to disconnect as the heat rises.
Heat can also cause the transistor to fail internally, yours may be bad.

Could also be a carbon short on the red gun inside if that's a CRT

Thank you! I monkeyed with the CRT rings, and the monitor stayed normal for the duration of my game session!
