Title: CRT to lcd
Post by: Hogtiednaked on June 09, 2019, 01:11:17 PM
I am new to the site and like all sites I know to search before posting questions that have been answered 100 times. That being said the two options I have found for the conversion is the ceronix plug and play and the mod at the top of the page that is 7 yrs old. I was wondering if there is a less technical solution than the personal mod as I am not that skilled or is there a lower cost plug and play than the ceronix option.

I don’t like the technical solution either.
The video signaling is inverted so a upscaling CGA to VGA will get you a picture on a regular LCD but the colours are inverted and don’t look right. You can change backgrounds in the PE+ And it’s playablr but it’s still Goff. So if your in for $130 for a LCD monitor and $70 for an upscale converter your almost 1/2 way to the drop in to make it right. The other challenge is finding a square monitor as almost everything is widescreen.

From all I have read the ceronix is awesome. I just can’t believe there is no competition out there to drive the price down.

Problem is that the demand for the LCD Monitor is too low for any company to invest money into developing a lower cost LCD monitor. The only place I know that carries what your looking for Ceronix. Your going to drop $400-$500 through them.

That’s what I figured. I picked up the machine for $40 and got a few weeks use out of it before the crt went out. I guess I can just hold onto it until I find a cheap crt on eBay.
