Title: S2000 - Converting a 3 reel to a 5 reel game
Post by: Nurbo on July 21, 2014, 03:38:39 PM
Hello ,

I want to convert my S2000 3 reel into a 5 reel.

From what I know, I have to change a few parts:
- Backlit shelf with 5 reel and harness
- 10 buttons with deck harness
- I / O board 7802 x2
- 9 lines display panel
- Game kit (strips, glass, SB - SG - VS chips)

However, I feel  really really really lost concerning the different board.
I actually have a S2000 and the Super Stepper Controller MPU is a 504 model.
Does the Enhanced Memory board 1 (for converting 3 to 5 reel) must be connected in place of the Multimedia Lite Board?
I've also seen the term R-BOARD with reference R0000047 or R0000049 for a 5R/9L for game kit Triple Red Hot 7's, what does it mean ?

Thanks !!!

I don't know anything about Enhanced boards. I have 2- 5 reel slots.  Ms. Little Green Men and Double Diamond Run and they have 500 series boards.

Your list pretty much sums up what you would need with what you have... (minus the 9line display harness)

Your 504 will run an SB chip for the 5Reel kit that you choose. If you happen to have a 5Reel kit with an Rboard, you will need an enhanced 1270 MPU and mother board to run it.. - Where the MMLB board on 500 series goes will not run an Rboard. They are made for the enhanced MPU's.

It should be added that if you have a machine with the short reel glass, you have a lot of work to do.  Typically the easy conversion is when you have long reel glass (i.e. your printer is in the top box).

I guess a key question is what 5 reel game do you want to build?
That will tell you if it will be a R-board game or not.

:sherlock:  Just wanted to point out that if you bought the 16" TripRH7 kit here from Slots4home, you're all good.. That board pictured is a Legacy board which mimics your MPU setup.. Just pop the SB chip and get to spinnin'. (*may need proper SG's)

If you are not talking about that TripRH7 kit, disregard.., But I still advise to get to spinnin!  :cool_thumb_up:

Hello,

Thank you everybody for your answers, I should probably not have any problem with my motherboard.

Harvs: you are really the Sherlock Holmes  :sherlock: of the day ! My questions are related to the Slots4home kit !

Ha! - Just find out what SG's are on that board. You may need a diff set to run on your 504. Nothing like getting a kit installed shined up ready to spin, just to find out you have to wait another 5 days for a few little chips..

It's a SB100924 and set of SG000362
At home I have in stock a set of SG000363, but I do not think that this chips works with 9 lines.

Actually the 363's should work with that 5Reel game if I'm not mistaken.

Ok, I'll see if it works.

I bought the Darell's kit.

However, he will miss a 5-Reel Set (5 reel wide suitable for 2 1/4 "reel strips + harness + shelf)
