Title: Noob Question (Varta battery and Door errors)
Post by: BrianL on December 18, 2019, 05:43:04 PM
I have "door open m" and "bill Validator com" errors.  There was a tiny bit of leakage from the Varta Battery so I removed it and replaced with new.  Cleaned the acid spill (again tiny amount), and checked all traces in the area, and all seem good.  I am happy to just buy a referbed MPU board, but wondering what I would need to do to swap the game over to the new board.  I assume I just need to swap the 3 removable "chips" over?  Do I have to reprogram other stuff?  Do I need is Chip Key of some kind to do that?  If so how do I obtain said key?   Sorry for all the questions, just new to this.   I have done alot of pinball repair, but this is my first slot machine.  I am not SUPER strong at component level troubleshooting, but I have enough skill to do minor stuff....  thanks in advance

Key chip not required but every S2000 owner should have one & a clear chip. Just swap the chips. You will get a couple errors. Just open the door, turn the jackpot key 4 times, press test switch & close door. Repeat for second error but you will have to turn the key only 3 times. IVC00224 & KEY00045 clear & key chips are recommended. I can provide those. PM if interested.
