Title: Clear and load new game sequence?
Post by: 777tow on December 21, 2019, 10:06:56 PM
Still new to Bally V32. Can someone tell me what is the proper sequence to clear, then install a new game? After I clear, what is next? Install card and game USB same time? One by one? Dont wanna mess up anything.....

I believe if you clear you will have to reinstall the OS.  Just use install card and game usb.

Just an fyi, most home machines have modified CPUs so that they will not load anything from USB ,only from CF cards.  So if your machine won't load a game from a USB thumb drive then it's because of this.

Thanks for the info. So even if after I load with USB and it says successful,  there is still that possibility?

No, if it accepts the USB for loading then it's good to go.

Okay...we have other issues then. I used clear card to clear. Do you slide in install card and usb same time then  boot? Or is it do install, power down and then use usb?

A clear card will not do a factory reset so if that is all you used the OS will still be there.  The Install card does a factory reset if no USB or Cf is inserted in the CPU. Power the machine down and insert the Install card in the top slot and the USB into a USB port.  Then power it up.  Eventually it will come to white install screen, take it from there to install a game or an OS.  When done, power down and remove the Install and USB, then power the machine back up to get to the setup screen.

Ok...so lastnight as I was working on the machine, I booted it up and during boot up it froze. Turned off booted up again and it froze. So in reading a former thread, I followed the factory reset, but now I realize in doing that, I wiped the OS. Left you a private message. Whats funny is, I saw your quote about if it aint broke dont mess with it. I had to laugh.....
