Title: Diagnostic Key Issue
Post by: sakwilla on January 05, 2020, 11:53:47 PM
Hi
I purchased a Diagnostic Key from Grandview Products (it is a copy, not genuine) and it initially worked fine. I went to install a game this morning and it stalled for hours half way through. I turned the machine off and then on again, then after the blue avp screen it comes up with a Storage Issue.

Went to format the hard disk using the ekey7 and diagnostic 14-09 and it keeps rebooting.

Can anyone provide any help or assistance please! As my machine is now not working. Thankyou in advance :)

Diagnostics need to be put in the machine when it's OFF, then taken out when its OFF.. Never put them in the machine when it is powered ON and never put the diag in a computer, it ruins them.

You put them in 'before' you turn it off? Typo?

Put it in when it is OFF, take out when OFF. Only time I seen them take sh!ts is when people put them in their computer or monkey with them on machines that are ON.

Another thing you can try if it is just rebooting nonstop is remove the batteries from the PCI card for a minute or so then pop them back in and turn on, it should force a machine setup and then you can remove that pkg in the manager.

Cheers Harvs. So if I pull out those batteries and put them back in and turn back on the machine what will happen? Do I need to put the ekey or anything in?
all I want to do is wipe the hard drive and then reinstall the os and the working games.

Yes, ekey installed.. It May force a setup from scratch. It wont wipe the HD for you but maybe you can get around the error it has now. A functional Diag would be needed to wipe all and install an OS.

I have no clue what CPU/Boots/machine you are working on. There are different Diags also but 14-09 is the more common..
