Title: Please help probably simple
Post by: terinvannelli27@gmail.com on January 08, 2020, 04:20:48 PM
I recently purchased a player's edge draw poker machine and everything turns on but I have the yellow bottom light blinking constantly and a message on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen that says closure restart it does say 5 coins in but it will not allow me to play poker please help

That would be normal, sounds like a button problem.  Check the wires or may need a new switch.

please do not double post.

Which button, like the deal button because when I did the test on it every button was registering, sorry about the double post didn't think it went through. The thing that confuses me there is that the minute you shit the door it goes to 5 coins in automatically9

OK if it passes button test then it's something else.  Got any pics? Maybe someone will see something.

I'll take some and let me know what you think. Don't think it just needs a general reset or anything

So I just noticed thatwith the door shut when I'm doing the self test on the inputs that the door opened its just flickering from zero to one so it's obviously not closed what can I check

I removed your duplicate topic, no problem.

A blinking candle light and the messages "Closure" "Restart" are perfectly normal after a power-up.  Also, the flickering 1/0/1/0 for the door sensor in the self test inputs is 100% normal, and that's actually a good sign -- it means your door optics are working properly.  The machine uses a pulsed signal to help prevent someone from circumventing the door optics.

Can you post a picture of the screen?  From what you've described, it sounds like the machine is just waiting for you to insert a coin(s) and play.  You need to make sure you have a sample coin in the coin comparator, and you may need to adjust the sensitivity on the comparator to make it less likely to reject coins, if any coins inserted are being rejected.  Once you have inserted five coins (for most video poker games), it will automatically deal the cards, so this leads me to believe that you're seeing the outcome of the last hand played and the machine is simply waiting for you to insert coin(s) to play again.

I would ensure your cash can door is closed. Open the door, remove the cash can and reseat it, make sure the cash can door is closed. When the locks are removed sometimes the door wants to push open a bit, a strip of electrical or ducktape to keep it closed is good.

Have you tried adding any more coins ? do they fall into the coin tray or hopper ? or do they reset back to one credit ?

There is also a jackpot reset key on the right side of the machine. With the door closed perhaps try turning it.
Normally when you hit a large pay out - it will dump coins out to the hopper limit, then go into what is known as a hand pay
That's where the attendant comes over with the large cheque and takes your picture and then hands you a tax form.
You can't play the machine until the jackpot reset is turned. I am not sure if it will accept coins but not play (ie one possible scenario that your in).
