Title: Sound device mismatch
Post by: 777tow on February 18, 2020, 12:00:03 AM
On the blue window when loading a game, can someone explain to me what "Game and sound device mismatch" means?

Means the game calls for either a 5.1 board and you have a 2.0 or vice-versa.

What's too bad is that whenever these MPU's send out an error code or message to the display, they should be more specific in the message.

Perhaps there's just not enough memory room to do it though or the companies just don't want to do it.

Moderator please move this to the Bally Video slot area, this is not a stepper game.

The sound board on the V32 games is a USB based device.   There are two variants, one is 2.0 (left/right speaker) and the other one is a 5.1 (surround sound setup used with cabinets and sound chairs).  If your game requires a 5.1 card and you have a 2.0 card, you will get this error.  If the game requies a 2.0 card and you have a 5.1 card you will get this error.

The easy work around is to just unplug the USB cable that connects the sound card to the mpu, you will loose the ability to control volume through the player panel, but you can still somewhat control it through the admin menu.
