Hello everyone,
I have a Blue Bird 1 (Green MPU) with a single monitor and I am wondering if I can use a computer monitor as a second monitor? If so, what resolution does it need to be and how would I connect it?
Thank you

You can use a pc monitor, 800x600 4:3 aspect ratio to match the one you have already. The other caveat is that you either need a tsetse board to drive it (so you can play the dual screen bb1 games), or you could get a cpunxt2 (bb2 mpu) and connect the monitor to the secondary VGA port on that mpu. Then you could play the bb2 games that are compatible with the 4:3 aspect ratio games and the top glass graphics (and sometimes bonus information) will be displayed on the top screen.

Thank you, what Blue Bird 2 games are compatible with a 4:3 ration? And where can I get a CPUnxt2 ? I am thinking about updating in the fall or near Christmas
Also, what happens if I plug in a monitor with the incorrect aspect ratio?

Post a WTB in the classifieds. You can also find them on e-bay. Just make sure you buy from a reputable person. You are looking for a CPUNXT2 mpu, and you are going to want to make sure you get the entire thing with the cover attached. Some dealers just sell the mpu without a cover, but a cover is important because of air circulation across the video card.
The 4:3 aspect ratio games are typically the ones that are G+ type games. If in doubt, you can post a question here and somebody will be able to tell you. Basically any bb1 compatible bb2 game is 4:3 aspect ratio.

Thank you and I’ll post a question. I’ll also make sure to get a MPU with a lid
