Title: E-2114-73 code 50
Post by: Phan000 on August 12, 2020, 06:36:09 AM
I  picked up a e2114-73 with no codes a few days ago.

Replaced the battery, now gives the 50.000 code, despite not having any door switches visible.

I don’t see any wires nutted off where the switches used to be.

What color are the switch wires?  Is there an override for this issue?

Also, after cleaning stuck plastic plunger the reels still spin fairly slowly & the stop mechanism never engages.

Is the stop mechanism mechanical, or does it need a solenoid to engage.

Have plenty of photos, but having a difficult time posting them without an using off-site link.

Thanks in advance.

The door switch is in the lower door hinge and on the reels you will
need to clean and re-lube  the black rods on the reel assembly.
The black rods must spin freely in your fingers before it will work properly.
There are bearings in the reel hubs so a drop or two of oil in the small hole
Will get those reels spinning again.

I don’t think there is a switch still on the lower hinge.

I didn’t see one for the door lock either, but not exactly sure where it would be.

Both of my e2000 machine have a door switch in the square
hole of the boor hinge but not all e2000 have a key switch.
Your going tho have to find a wiring diagram for the e2000
series machines as all of them are the same to some degree.
I will try to get a picture of my e2000 door hinge switch to
night if no one else posts one for you.

Hi, I’m curious if you ever resolved this?  I’ve got a similar condition on my E-2000 series machine.  Mine does has a door switch in the hinge (no 2nd switch on the lock).  Same 50-000 code and the door open candle is lit.  Reels spin with a lever pull but no mechanical stop engages...reels just spin until they run out of energy.  Cycling the switch manually doesn’t help.  Just about to hunt for a new switch but was hoping to hear if/how you resolved yours.  Thanks!!
