Post by: biscuitttt on October 13, 2020, 11:22:17 AM
Just got another  bally 5000 plus . Iv had one I was working on a while back but it had to much moisture damage.. Iv  got 3 ITGs and 1 Sigma and wanted something different to add to my collection . the machine is clean  and looks good but wont start. All it does when you power on is light up. it don't cycle and the win ,paid, and credit window show all 8s. Iv tried reset key and iv pulled the top board ,but no reset ,I do have a key pad ,and still nothing. Do I need Clear Roms ? or do I have other issues, any information would be greatly appreciated ...Thank You..

What is the voltage present on your battery?
Usually a jumper option or pulling out the I/O board partially does a clear, clear chips  are normally not needed.

That voltage is high enough to power your RAM chips.

You need one that supplies +5V, +12V, and +24
The +12V should be at least 1 Amp.
The +24 should be at least 2.5 Amps.
The +5 should be at least 4 Amps.
The -12V is not needed, it is not used in the S5000.

I install a new power supply (meanwell RQ-85D) , now when I power on the right wheel spin slow the middle shake and the left does nothing ,and on the display I get 5.0 and 4.5 flashing and F in the lower left box on the display. Iv tried pulling IO board and also swopping the jumpers on j15 to j14.and and no luck on reset, should I try clear roms or would that just be a waste of money

The reels are doing that because the game has not been reset properly.
I do have the two clear chips if you want to try those next.
PM me.

I found a big issue with the reel board, 2 burnt IC chips and 2 resistors ,I swapped it out with a board from another machine but now the reels just shake and I still get a 4.5 and a 5.0 error flashing. I have have several MPU and IO boards I have tried and all give me the same error. The only board that I have not changed yet is the one on the door , I bought the machine not working and looks now like the reel board was the original problem , Do you think the reel board I replaced could still be causing all my problems.

what would cause the machine to automatically spin after the third coin is dropped without pressing spin button or the spin handle

The board is programmed for auto spin, use a key pad and change setting 32 to 00
