Hello I’m new to this forum and new to PE machines. I was given this machine free at work and am now trying to make it work. I need help from the very start. I don’t even know the terms used or names of parts. I was told that it worked until the coin insertion mechanism broke. They tried to fix it but just left it in pieces. I’m posting all the photos I think will help. Please be nice to a noobie it’s my first time. :Scratch-Head:

Welcome to the site.
I'm not very familiar with the non-plus PE, but I did notice in your picture of the processor board that the connector between the transformer and the board has a big burn mark on it, and also that is not connected to the board.
Hopefully some other folks here have some additional ideas for you.
-
Yes I noticed the burn. I checked continuity when plugged in and it was good
-
Can someone give me a schematic for thin so I can start testing voltages?
-
Here is a schematic that may help.
-
Thank you so much.

In regards to this post I too have a PE non plus machine with the same problem. The florescent light and candle on top are the only things working. The guy I got mine from said it was working great then went blank like it lost power. I checked all the fuses and none were blown. Any help here would be helpful

I’m in the process of doing the crt to lcd conversion. I already ordered all the parts and will receive them soon. I’m hoping that’s the fix.
-
How much did you have to pay for the conversion If I may ask. I found a guy in Florida that wanted 439.00 not sure the machine is worth that much since e nothing else works on it
-
$25 for the 8200 and $20 with shipping for the caps and resisters with shipping. I had a perfect sized monitor at work that they let me have free.
-
There also this guide I’m thinking of trying out if the conversion fails.
-
Did you get the machine working mine is still only the candle light and florescent lamps
-
I have confirmed that it’s definitely the crt/chassis. I connected the 8220 only and can barely make out (service needed) on screen so I’m still waiting for the caps and resisters to complete the conversion to lcd.
-
Thats good news. So do you have switch lights on the front of the machine ? I also saw that you mentioned checking the voltages at the transformer and something about a guide.
-
No switch lights. Transformer voltage is good.
-
I sure appreciate all the help. Im not sure what I'm gonna do with this machine. Please let us know how your machine turns out
-
It worked. Just replaced all 19 caps.
-
Thats great news. The caps are on the list from the link you provided ?

This is an exact list from my order. 19 caps.

I replaced 1 more cap. And it works great now.

I have ordered the caps waiting for them to come in
-
Don’t forget the 10uf 16v cap I replaced after the 19 orders on mouser. And good luck let us know how it goes.
-
Ok I replaced the 19 caps reinstalled the monitor and turned the machine on nothing happened. I turned it off and saw a line appear across the monitor briefly . That had never happened before. I turned it off and on again and hit the reset button then the jackpot key and it came on . The monitor was really erratic but settled down and worked pretty good. The display seems to be too large for the screen is there an adjustment for this. The denomination and credits are barely visible . I want to thank you so much for the help so far on this machine and would like to make a donation to the cause.

Does the 16 mfd 16v cap have a designator and do you think it would help with the screen adjustment
-
With the door open. There should be some control knobs on the upper right hand side of the monitor that should fix that.

If your referring to the #214/H10 (10uf @ 16v) then YES. I think it would help tremendously.I replaced it with a 10uf @ 50v regular cap. Looks funky but works great. Thanks to Amechanic

Is it safe to adjust them with the power on ? I've never worked on a CRT and understand there is areas not to touch with power on
-
Also would you happen to know if there is a speaker volume control on this machine

The blue knob on edge of mpu (close to the battery) is volume control.

Thanks I already did it The machine works great

Does anyone know what size/length florescent bulb thie PE uses?
-
Yeah mine has 15 inch tubes . By the way since I have you here the display on my machine says 5cents but the machine is a 25 cent machine is a way to change that to 25 cent.
-
I figured out how to change the Denomination .Im so happy with this machine thanks again to everyone
