Having an issue with a 17" 044 Gameking cabinet that I was using to test a 19" monitor and another bv head. Upon reassembling it back to its original state I am getting 2 errors: " Touch Screen A/D converter Error" and "Touch screen communication failure". The cabinet was working perfectly until I used it as a test mule:] Thinking it may be a netplex issue I have tried both disabling and physically disconnecting both the printer and the bv, no luck. I also swapped the motherboard to rule out any damaged traces or components on it, no dice. If I turn the rest key and go into diagnostics, the touchscreen works perfectly and will go through calibration no problem. Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome, I have searched the forum and I cant seem to find anyone with the exact same problem. Thanks All!

A 19" LCD physically fit in a 17" cabinet? Didn't think it would. I'd try replacing the touchscreen controller and see it that resolves the problem.
BTW: Sent your package out yesterday afternoon.

Well it doesnt"fit" persay, but if you unbolt the plug from the back of the frame and hold it in front of the cabinet it works for a quick test. Would the controller be bad if the touchscreen works during diagnostics? Any idea what the whole a/d error could be? I cant find any mention of that one ant where.

Oh ok. I was trying to figure out how you'd get the connectors to fit. I've seen the touchscreen comm error many times, but never the A/D error. Seems odd that it works in diagnostics, but I'd try swapping the controller first and see if that fixes it or not.

Another thing to try of course would be to see if the ribbon cable has come loose from movement?
But IT IS ODD that the TS works in "Diagnostic" mode but not allowing you to get into Game mode?

That is odd- Have never seen a 'Touch Screen AD Converter' error. Maybe clear RAM with keychip or dev. chip may help? I had stubborn errors that would not go away despite the physical fix completed, and a ram clear allowed the machine to get over it.

Well, Good news! I got home tonight and did a clear and set the game back up and no errors anymore! Must have been as floridagaming described. Basically the software was having a glitch. Thankyou to everyone who responded! I was a little concerned there for a minute that I might have inadvertently cooked something important!

That is good news. It's pretty rare that clearing memory corrects a hardware error. But that was a pretty rare error message too, never seen it before. Glad it's working again :applause: .

Glad it worked! Nice GK setup!
