Hi,
My s+ is randomly making a respin when it’s not suppose to I think, and sometimes after a pull when I see that It’s gonna get a nudge on reel 1 and 2 or 3 it make a respin between the nudge, pretty strange and wonder why it behave that way?
:thank_you:
-
One of the reel strips has probably slipped and needs realigned.
-
How do I realign the reels or the strips as you say, and is there a way to check if that’s the case ?
Thanks 😇
-
Usually where the paper overlaps and about an inch or so above it on the right side edge of the reel basket is a notch. If you put your finger along the edge of the basket you will feel it. The cut out notches in the strip align with that notch. Once you find that notch there should be one on the left side also but that's not the important side. All three reels should have all the notches and cut outs lined up. If not aligned, this is the problem.
-
Yes I found the notch and the cut in the reel strip and all three reels are in place as they should.
It happens maybe 1 or two times every 20- 50 spin and randomly, I notice that the top candle also
react with a short blink when it happened but I’m not sure if that happened every time..
Is there a way to test it ?
S2000 is so much more easy to handle in general but I love the s+ machines too, hehe
Thanks for your help Ken 😇

I don't have a machine ready to verify and it's been a long time.
Push the self test switch until the #4 is in the coins played window. Should show the SS and SP number on the left side of the denom insert. Press the spin reel button and see if all 3 top awards line up on the payline .. without closing the door. If so then all that should be correct. After that I'm not sure where to go next other than let it break.
-
Are you able to take a video of what's happening to show us? It might make it easier to diagnose the issue.
If you are, I'd recommend taking the video and then uploading it to YouTube. You can post the link here for us to see.
-
Here’s a video of the slot machine and you can see the top candle blinks after around 16 sec and then it makes a respin!
It looks like it’s reel number one from the left every time.
Can it be the motor or optic, software etc..

Call the priest! That machine needs to be exorcised!! :rotfl:
I'm going to say "stuck logic" signal....use a Clear chip and set the denom back up.
-
Looks normal to me. When the 4th of July symbol on reel three lands on the payline it will respin the reels until you hit a winning combination.
-
Tilt, You're describing it as like a "Spin To Win"?
I didn't know that....I always thought it was like a "Haywire" game...I've never had that game.
In that case, then I'd say do NOT use the Clear chip.
Disregard my last Reply....thanks....I didn't finish my coffee yet! haha
-
Yes that’s right it is a spin to you win game after you get the 4th of July symbol and nudge function as well. I’m not sure how to clear the game and I know it’s way harder than the s2000 game so I hope I don’t need to either.. if you guys look closer 16 sec in the video you will see that it repeat the same last spin not just regular spin and at the same time the top candle blink and you can notice a short blink in the digital display also and I’m sure it’s not suppose to do that..
I’m not sure how rare this game is but do you guys know?
Haha cheers with coffee right back at ya :dancing_2:
:thank_you:

I see what you're talking about. First thing I'd check is the connection on the motherboard from the power supply. They tend to overheat, oxidize, and eventually fail over time.
See this post for more details. If yours is starting to fail contact member Ken here, he may still have some new ones available.

Thanks Tilt for remembering.
I still have them.

Here’s a picture of the connection and it all looks pretty clean and there are no burn marks..
-
That one does look pretty good.
Is when it's going to nudge a symbol the only time it blinks the candle and respins the reels? It's not doing it every time it nudges though from watching the video.
-
I still say it's possessed! haha
Hey...your SS reel chip...is it OEM or a copy?
-
I've seen the video from my phone so I'm probably not getting a good look. I remember that one of the S+ respins after a long respin the sound would go funky. But don't remember the candle blinking. I'm thinking SS too but this one is not going to be an easy one to solve until it breaks or start replacing parts.
-
It’s not only when it nudge and not on every nudge and it’s randomly. It looks like it is only reel number 1 and still never happened with reel 2 or 3 Today I tried around 500 tokens and it only happened once and it was not with a nudge involved..
-
That makes it tough to find. Usually if there was a problem with reel #1 you'd get a 41 error. Inspect the reel carefully and make sure it's not rubbing on anywhere and that the connector is fully seated. If all that looks good my next suggestion would be to swap reel #1 and reel #2 around and see if the problem stays with reel 1 or moves to reel 2. If the problem stays with reel 1 then there's probably something going bad on your MPU board. If it moves to reel #2 then it's with the reel itself. You'll have to move the reel strips too because all three strips are different in your game.
-
Cool!
I don't think I've ever seen an SP494 ever used in a game....unusual :cool_thumb_up:
I would turn ON the 1st dip switch tho...you have 1 OFF, 2, 3, 4 ON, the rest OFF.
To each his own tho
-
I have several extra reel motors and can try to change it on reel #1 and see if that helps..
I changed just the dip switch 1 and 2 on purpose so It changed the payout from 400 to 600 coins.
This game was located on a cruise ship in Scandinavia before I got it and this chip was installed when I received, do you know what’s special with this chip ?
-
Nothing really special...just old as dirt! haha
It's made for that game to match the SS reel chip to make the reels behave like a "Spin To Win" game.
I think your chips are fine...it's just that I don't don't recall IGT making chip labels like that.
-
I have several extra reel motors and can try to change it on reel #1 and see if that helps..
Yeah, give that a try.
-
Is it worth trying to use clear chip to fix this bug if there is nothing else that solve the problem?
-
No. All a clear chip does is clear the RAM and EEPROM memory. It won't fix a hardware error and then you end up with setup issues. "Now every time I play my machine and win something it pays coins out instead of going to the credit meter, why?" etc, etc, etc.
-
That what I hear and read all over too, and I look at my self as a newbie when it comes to the set up on a s+
Is it easier if I just want to change the pay out percent or should I just stay away everything and just let it be as it is?
I also have s2000 machines and I think they are so much more easier to deal with :dancing_2:
-
Actually, it's just a matter of understanding the menu system they used for S+'s.
That's why they made it easier for the dummies to set up S2000's at the casinos when they came out. :Tongue_Out:
You can't change the % anyhow thru the menus on an S+...you have to install a different SS reel chip to change it.
Yours is an SS4364...>>>
SS:4364 3R3CM MU PRC:87.592 HTFQ:17.212
In the PAR sheet, it DOES mention this about your chip...>>> "Mother Program's "Spin `Til You Win" feature:"
All in all, your chip is "Casino Tight-As-Hell" :rotfl:
-
Yes your right about that, it’s probably not that hard if you have lot of time and good nlg friends to start with, but so far I haven’t started to try to understand it since I haven’t needed, and I guess that a good reason to stay away from it too, hehe
Do you mean I can just change the reel chip without doing much for changing the %, if so that would be great :applause:
-
Yeah...change that sucker outta there if you can and get a better chip to play with with a higher percentage.
That chip is for casinos that want to build giant hotels...lol
-
Nice!
I love robbing my friends but I guess this is better in the long run! 😂
So now Im up for a good one if anyone has one for sale ?
-
Contact member RB here, he can probably help you find something with a better payback percentage.
-
Is this only happening during the Spin-Til-You-Win mode, or does it happen during regular gameplay, too?
It looked to me like a minor power interruption, where the machine recovered (hence the "repeated" spin). But it looks like you've already checked the power connector which is the usual culprit.
I would recommend, with the machine unplugged, checking the power supply and under the motherboard for any loose coins, washers, screws, etc. that could be causing an occasional short.
-
It did it randomly and not only during spin til you win mode, but now I think we found the issue, but I’m not 100% sure it gone for good..
I did check all plugs and wires and it all looks clean and fine, and there was no loose coins or things like that who could make problems.
I tried another door optic from one of my other machines and now it have been working for days (around 500 pull) without any problems, so I guess that’s why the top candle was flashing too since it normally flash when the door is open..
Thanks to all you guys it looks like the problem is solved, and for sure I could never could solve It without you guys here on NLG, again..
Thanks 😌
