Hi All!
this is my first post, as i also am new to slots.
I have a 2005 Double Gold slot, that i am trying to repair for a friend.
When i received the machine, it had the door open error. after reading some of the posts, I concluded that the MP board had battery damage. I removed the Varta battery and attempted to repair the board, to no avail. I ended up purchasing a replacement board and clear and key chips.
The door open error is fixed, but i cannot get the coin comparator to function. The coins just drop through. The green LED is lit on the comparator.
I'm not sure if i configured the accounting values correctly. I set the coin valus to $.25.
please help,
Roger

...and attempted to repair the board...
Welcome to NLG Roger,
Can you describe what you mean by this in better detail?
Maybe we can help you get your friends machine running the way it's supposed to.
Where are the coins dropping to?
The coin tray or the hopper?
-
Thanks for the quick response!
The coin is dropping into the coin tray. I tried setting it up with quarters and then with tokens. neither work.

Make sure the door is closed while your testing it. If the door is open they all drop straight through.
I made that mistake a few times when setting mine up......
-
I tried with the door closed and with the door open. There is no difference.
The display showns "1 Credit= $0.25, so i think I programmed the accounting portion correctly.
-
When you turn on the machine, tell us everything it does. Like BV cycles, reels spin right to left, ect. What is the display saying. We can't see it, so the more you tell us the better. Is your sample coin inserted properly?
-
Try the sensitivity adjustment. Bottom right of comparitor. The pot becomes oxidized. Turn right leave all the way left/ counterclockwise.
-
Is there a sample coin installed in the coin comparitor?
-
When you key chipped it, are you sure you set it up for coin ? Check the menu and see if it is set for coinless.
On one of my machines the coin comparator connector is a bit temperamental and stopped accepting coins a couple of times. I just unplugged it and reseated it, then it was ok.
-
Here is what happens when booting:
The display shows
Display passes test
Please wait...Testing Memory
Waiting for Netplex Devices
then
Reels spin on at a time from right to left
then display shows
Cash $0.00 1 Credit=$0.25
Insert Coin
1 Credit=$0.25
Play 45 credits
i tried turning the pot on the coin comparator, with to door closed and it still just lets the coin drop into the coin tray. there is a quarter in the comparator. I also checked the rake for binding.

Physically, can you tell me the color of the two small wires coming off the top of the coin comparitor?
They go to the rake.
-
The two wires coming from the rake are green
-
okay good..that means you may have an 13 volt coin comparitor for an S2000 at least.
Have you tried the coin in tests yet?
Earlier you said you saw the CC LED was on when the door was open?
Can you verify that?
I always thought that CC LED ONLY comes on when the door is closed.
I could be mistaken as I am nowhere near a machine to check for you.
Maybe another member can help you here as I'm off...have a good weekend! :)
-
CC led lite will come on on a s2000 when door is open, but will not on a s+.
-
Yes, the green LED is on when the door is open.
How do I try the coin in test?
-
Roger, place something between the rake & back of the comp to hold it open. A coin wrapper works well. Reinstall it & test. Coins should go into the hopper. If they give credit, then the comp and optics are good but the rake coil is bad. You can completely remove the rake but the downside is that any coin will pass into the hopper such a nickels, pennies & would cause problems when dispensing.
-
I placed a shim under the rake, closed the door and inserted a coin. The coin does go into the hopper, but then the display shows:
Closure M
Coin - in Error
Call attendant
I opened the door and then closed it. The reels cycle right to left and the display goes back to
1credit=$0.25
-
So did it credit the coin before the error? If not your optics might be bad.
-
No, it did not credit before the error.
Which optics are you referring to? I already tried another coin comparator, with the same results
-
he's talking about the small sandwiched circuit boards under the CC.
They have optics in them and credit your machine when a coin goes thru breaking the beam of ultraviolet light.
-
Ok, is there anyway to test it?
-
What is the S1 switch on the optics board for?
-
What is the S1 switch on the optics board for?
That is the Service coin switch...it adds one credit to the machine each time you depress it.
-
the s1 switch doesn't do anything, could my problem be incorrect programming?
