I changed all three batteries in my Bally Alpha Elite 5 reel, with 6.3 inch touch panel, 512 MPU . Now I have no signal on the display, the MPU buzzes, the reels continuously spin, the led readouts on the MPU show 88 and nothing happens. I changed the power supply on the MPU. I double checked the batteries and they are correctly installed, powered up the MPU unplugged from the back plane, switched the ATX switch on and off, tried the clear card and nothing seems to help. I plugged in a computer monitor to the VGA port and get no picture.
The OS card is AVOS00000336-09The Clear Card is AVOCLEAR0335-01 I am beginning to believe the MPU has crapped out. Any suggestions would appreciated.

Turn the machine off in sequence from right to left meaning CPU, cabinet, main. Boot it up from left to right main, cabinet then CPU. See if that resolves your issue.

Thanks for the reply, but it did not resolve the issue.

Yeah sounds like the MPU died. Nothing happens when you power it up outside the cabinet with a monitor attached? Check the bios chip make sure it's good. Other than that, not much more you can do if you have already switched out the mpu's power supply.

Would it be better to send it out and have the board repaired or try to find a 512 MPU somewhere?

Cheaper to buy a known working MPU.

I have one for you, send me a PM if interested.

I see you double checked the batteries

IT Lives. After 3 months, I finally had time to dig into the Bally S9000 problems. I found these problems: NVRAM was corrupt, that annoying 512 buzzing was present, it wouldn't boot up, the 6.3 LCD kept flashing no signal, no video signal from the MPU therefore an external monitor was no help.
The problem of the 6.3 LCD not working was the one thing that I could not find any repair info on. I pulled the LCD monitor out and started looking for anything that was visibility wrong and I found the 35 volt 220 mfd cap with the top blown out on the power board. I replaced that cap and the LCD worked again. However, the MPU was still buzzing and not booting up. After some digging on this site, thanks to Fireball Jackpot, I found some answers to the 512 buzzing. Thanks to RB for the 807 bios chip, clear and OS cards, I finally was able to revive the Alpha Elite. Also thanks to Jim at Bettor slots for the easy instructions to re-install the TITO.
I hope this helps anyone else that needs help.
ps I now keep the machine plugged into a good UPS with surge protection.
