Title: Bally The Mint break the bank
Post by: SPN on November 07, 2021, 11:23:57 PM
I got this glass when I bought a large lot of machines last week but I’m not sure what Bally game it’s for so if anyone have any information about the glass I would appreciate it :)

 :thank_you:

Looks like a 742A-14 MINT Break the Bank which matches your glass:

I don't know if this is definitive or there could be other models that used that glass, but hopefully this helps.   :cool_thumb_up:

The Mint was or still is a downtown Las Vegas Casino.
Glass looks to be a jackpot only belly glass.
Very early machine or the odds of winning were greater.
As the payouts are very low.

Thanks slot guys that was some good info :)

I would like to make a complete machine with this glass and I’m now looking for the parts that I need to do that..

I have several 742 machines and I guess I need to figure out which one to start with, any tips?

So if any one have any parts for this Bally  742A 14 machine I’m interesting buying 😊

Thanks again guys!!

Determine which machine is the cleanest inside.
It will probably be the easiest machine to get running.
Once it’s running, you’ll have something to compare the other machines with.

Yes I will find a machine that is in nice clean and good condition that I can use for this project :)
Can you see from the glass what kind of coin the machine is supper to use, can it be a nickel or a quarter ?
I would need the reel strips too, and the reel glass if anyone know how they look like ?

Do I have to rebuild the hopper or can I find the right one out there ?

Thanks :)

Assuming you’re building a Machine around the Mint glass?

Low payouts most likely it was a nickel machine.

Yes I’m building the machine around the Mint glass

It would be awesome if someone had a picture of a similar machine too

742-a-14 Bally slot machine.
Probably won’t be able to find a photo of that particular machine.

But there’s a lot of 742-a machines out there.
Search 742-a jackpot only, something  similar should pop up.

See attached photo.

doesn't look like the 742A-14 was jackpot only ... the rest of the payouts would be on the reel glass.  Below are the reel tapes.

the tricky thing will be finding index discs.  You need P-484-[133, 134, 135] to make a 742A-14, and from my info they are unique to the 742A-14.   Other versions of "break the bank" used different index discs.

you may have to more-or-less design you own game with whatever base machine you'd like to use.  It's pretty straightforward for a one line machine to make reel tapes match the index discs you have, then hook up the reel wipers wiring to power the payout counter traces you want to match the glass you have.

the index disc definitions and payout counter are below.

Hi and thanks for your replays guys :)

Well it doesn’t have to be a 741 and I have plenty of time since I’m working on several projects so I’m collecting info and hopefully some parts too so I can putting the machine together one day :)

Is there anyone who can reproduce the reel strips for this game ?

You guys makes it possible for me and many other guys all over to have this hobby, I’m very thankful 😌
