Hey I have another machine at a family members house that is down with a couple different problems. The VFD screen states in order CALL ATTENDANT,CLOSURE M, BILL VALIDATOR NO DOWNLOAD. The machine is not accepting bills. I have taken the bill acceptor out and inspected it many times. Any thoughts good people?

I did a search and found this info on the forum. Hope it helps:

I have pretty much looked done all that stuff, I have inspected the bill validator, no loose wires. I have opened and closed the doors numerous times. I had another machine that I bought from the same company and I had to buy a new B/V and I think even a new motherboard :/

Isnt there some system tests I can do? I forget how but i remember doing them in the past. Im rusty
-
what bill validator do you have. There are several that are used on the S2000's.
-
Im not really sure, I know its a old style 1. i saw a sticker on it that read id 024 v3.75-34. if that doesnt help there is another sticker with a bar code and some other numbers i could give. im pretty sure it needs a new validator because i had to replace a validator on another machine i bought along with this 1. I restarted the game and opened and closed the door and now the CALL ATTENDANT,CLOSURE M, BILL VALIDATOR NO DOWNLOAD are all gone off the VDF screen. It just wont accept any bills

So who would I talk to about buying a new B/V for the machine?
-
From the sticker you probably have a WBA 12/13 validator. Does the validator "cycle" when you power your machine up?
-
No it does not...

Does Anyone have a bill validator for sale that will work on the s2000 machine?

Post a WTB in the NLG classifieds, OR... look at the vendors on our home page, such as Midwest Slots, KLAR, or Slot Rush.

Hey I restarted the machine and noticed the B/V did make a cycling noise. Any thoughts anyone?

damn.. Did I piss someone off or something?

It appears that out of the 3 people that offered you some sound advice you have not made much of an attempt at diagnosing your problem. It makes me thing of the old adage, "You can lead a horse to water" but this is just my two cents.

After Rick's post, it appeared you just wanted to replace it since you didn't answer his question to continue the troubleshooting steps.
So, you likely didn't piss off anyone but you need to respond to that last post from rickhunter.

try this, this will tell you if the transport unit is working.

Since it cyles, we know it is getting power and thus not the issue. If the error persists, you probably have issues with the firmware on it. With power off, pull out the validator and look under the head where the PCB is. If it has a removable eprom (32 pin chip that is on a socket), the you may be able to just buy one with known working firmware. If you have a surface mounted flash chip on it, then you would need to have the unit flashed with the correct software by someone who has the correct tools to do so, OR you could just buy a known working transport+head (probably costs less than having someone flash it for you between service fees and sending the unit back and forth).
