Title: Game Maker HD ?????
Post by: slots-4-u on September 23, 2014, 02:24:47 PM
Installing program, all OK in setup except get this error. Is it because I don't have proper button panel?
Am installing in an Alpha Cinereel.

I do not have a Bally Alpha platform, but I do remember that the Gamemaker HD games do require a USB button panel, so if you did not put that type button panel in, then it is probably the culprit.

You must have the USB button deck with two universal buttons (the up/down arrow and LED display in the center) or you will get that error message.  You will get that same message if one or both of the universal buttons are bad as well.  I'm pretty sure you also need a 1Ghz MPU with at least 1GB of RAM.

I'm good on the MPU.1ghz.

There is ALSO a board that mounts in front middle of belly door when open that HAS to be there.  If not,  Button panel is useless.  These button decks and boards are not cheap, nor are even the gamesman buttons on the deck.  If it were easy it would not be fun as I like to think. I sold the two complete machines I had but have pictures of the board etc. in machine and a spare belly board (new).

I thought if I'd get around $100 to $150 I'd set my cinereel up for it. Sounds like I'll get to many $'s
in it.
Thanks Ford

You never know, But now the price is high to see one parted for that little bit of change. Without that stuff you got no gamemaker Hd V-20/20. Perhaps they have a cheat for this as well- :Scratch-Head: ,  Nah don't think so, not yet. I sold mine for pennies on the dollars.

I think you will may be sooner or later but the items you need are just intergrate to the machines.  I hope you can find a good deal on what you need.  I do not have the loose parts for this one at this time or I would offer.  As a note all the Suite's for these have diff. games on them. The more games you load, the longer it takes to boot up.

The cards I have there are about 12 games on.
AVGGMM2023UC-00 &AVGGMM0023C3-01. Sure they are not the best ones.

Some have a lot more than that on them.  even 12 game load takes a few....... to load.  BUT once it's loaded it is cooking with crisco.  You could bump your 1gig to 2gig with a stick and help speed up the process a bit. (That is any 1-gig box excluding orginal gamemaker boxes without the mem. expaninsion port).

My MPU is a 204694 Rev-E. Pulled it out & I see where I can add 1 more memory stick.

By adding will just increase speed of boot given the proper os/etc. sys on any given game.  Also will allow you to use some very early alpha 2 game titles (not many) but a few.  For the price I reccomend the upgrade, Just make sure you match your sticks on requirements.  Match to the T, search the web and get one.  Many companies made these but bally only used 3-4 from what I seen -In my area and even games I have recieved from other places.
