Long story short I picked up 4 machines yesterday all in non working order for 200 bucks. Pulled the junk leaking varta boards out of all of them and decided to start with the Double Diamond Mine Vision. Threw a working board in. Flip power on, BV cycles, no VFD display, I get a error on credit side saying No Display. Opened up the board being the Vision monitor and replaced the coin battery but did not make any change. Just trying figure out my next step. Find a new screen? Or look for something else causing the issue?
-
That "No Disp" message means the machine can't communicate with the VFD display, not the vision display. Try replacing the VFD controller card.

Thank you will give it a shot

Got it up and running still no vision display. Seems the back light is defective because you can hold a flash light up and read the screen. Does anyone know where to find a replacement that one cost a small fortune!

You need a LS520 invertor board.
Here is one in USA 4 day shipping

Awesome thank you!

Good job! Hopefully the inverter takes care of the the LCD display and you'll be up and running!
-
Fingers crossed!

Since you can see it with a flashlight. Absolutely the invertor. 10 minute fix

Just got the old one out in about 15, took a little bit to find. My first vision machine and excited to get it running. Not bad for a 50 dollar machine. Now to find some decently priced MPUs as these 4 machines are up my extras.

Could also be bad CCFL's.

Part came today and still no backlight. Can still see it only with flash light, what’s the next fox? Or time to purchase monitor
-
That sucks. The inverter boards do fail quite often, but the CCFLs do too. I've never disassembled a LCD screen on a Vision machine so I don't have any idea how difficult it is or where to get replacement CCFLs. Hopefully somebody here can help with that.
It would probably be easier to replace the whole thing. If you go that route keep the old one for parts.

Found a used one from China for 60 bucks. Sucks it will take a few weeks to get here. I’ll add the old one to the ever growing parts bin :banghead:
-
The dreaded slow boat from China. Good price though!

Those Vision LCD screens....I found that some company put the same screens in those rear-view headrest DVD players for rear passengers in vehicles.
If I find the link, I'll throw it up here.

Sorry the inverter did not work. I have only once had it not work. And I have also bought used one that were bad.
