Title: Firmware for an Epic 950L USB for IGT AVP G23

Ah ticket printer woes.

Anyone seasoned with a firmware flash for an Ithica Epic 950L Netplex/USB printer for use with an IGT AVP G23?

I found a diagram showing the possibility of using a USB to serial adapter with pin connections to the 4 pin molex serial port on it.  And have the programming software.   Cheaper than buying their cable to flash it…

But their FTP site with printer firmware files is locked up now.  Boooo!

Anyone have the firmware file itself to flash this printer so it will work via USB on my AVP G23?  Or has done a flash with a simple RS232 adapter like this?

It’s easier and usually cheaper to just get a different printer.  But finding a USB printer that’s IGT flashed for an AVP hasn’t been easy to source.  So I’d at least try to flash it if I had the firmware flash file for it.   🙂

Seems hilariously simplistic.   But it kinda should be.  The USB > Serial adapter is doing all the work.  The 4 pin molex on the top of the printer is for RS232.

If I can get a firmware file for IGT as mine is a  USB/Netplex version, I'd give it a go. I suspect the actual cable Ithica charges way too much for is likely just a USB > Serial adapter with a 4 pin molex for programming.

Diagram attached is only for the RS232, it would need to be powered on via the 4 pin power plug on the bottom as well.
