Title: 4th of July DBV200 Problem
Post by: gposing on November 08, 2014, 08:19:34 AM
When I power up the slot you can hear the head running.  It runs multiple times then just stops.  The light does not come on and it will not take bills.  Is the transport gears supposed to spin on power up? If so, they don't.  I did check to make sure it was enabled.

Thanks
Gary

Check to make sure the BV is fully seated. And check to make sure the cash can is seated and the door is closed.

I'm confused....sorry, it happens  :arrowthruhead: ,. What do you mean the head cycles, but the transport doesn't again, sorry if I'm missing something, but typically the head wouldn't make much noise, only the transport. If you're hearing ANYTHING, this is good!!

There is a small white gear on the side of the head that I can see when the unit powers up.  It spins, stops, spins, stops a few times.  I assume this is just the power on test.  The gears on the transport never spin.  I also assume they should have some type of power on test.

Ok I have the dbv pulling in the bills now but the dollAR goes in pauses then comes right back out.  The light does come on the bezel.

Try and use just a dollar bill.  I don't know what bills you are trying to use, but your DBV software may not be new enough to accept the new colored bills?

Yeah that is what I tried.  I think it wanted to take it because of the pause.  I put a new 20 in and it rejected right away.

Your light bulbs may be burned out. You can take one out and put it in the denomination socket to check. Since it is pulling the bill it is checking it. You may have to go to the bank and ask for an old small head 20 or 50. Try to get a crisp one for long time use. Otherwise you will have to upgrade to a WBA for newer bills. The DBV 200 is a dinosaur in slots.

The DBV-200 is just fine for your S+.

For testing purposes, use only a $1 bill in good condition.

Does your "insert coin" light work? If so, when you put the $1 in and it pauses before rejecting it, does the insert coin lamp blink? If so, you need to flip DIP switch 10 on the DBV.
