Title: Change My Triple Diamond to a Triple Dollar with Nudge
Post by: momospinyo on November 16, 2023, 09:45:55 AM
Hello!

Just bought a Triple Diamond machine and got it all working (Super stoked on it, thought me a couple things about these older machines). I saw on the Top threads some fun things to do with the machine, and one of those was to put a triple dollar to add the nudging. An ebay seller specified that i would need to buy the sp1306 or sp654. Is it really that complex, i was hoping to just pop in it and reset the machine, and call it a day lol. (slowly learning by everything as we speak!). If so, is it worth the trouble?

 :thank_you:

*edit:the current chips i have installed is a 1311 and a 4784*

Any S+ can be changed to any theme.
If you have a 2 coin Double Diamond and want it to be a 3 coin Haywire (wheels spin wildly forwards and back when you hit the haywire symbol) - no problem.
Want to go from Triple Diamond to Triple Diamond Deluxe (with a nudge) - No problem.

You need 2 chips - a Game Chip and a Reel chip.
++ the appropriate Reel strips and glass to match the game.

The reel chip determines the theme, payback percentage. This is the SS chip.
The PAR sheet  - Pay table and Reel (document that describes in detail) will indicate all sorts of things about the theme including what TYPE of game chip is required.
It will also list the reel strip numbers. Each reel strip has a number on it. There might be slight differences between 2 coin games and 3 coin games etc.

You can find a listing of the themes and chips in the IGT Game bible - Go to our home page, bottom right is the link to RICKS FAQs and inside there there is the link to the IGT game bible.
https://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/ (https://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/)
Ricks FAQs  is a great starter area for you to find out all sorts of info about your game, and how to change your game.

The Game chip is like the operating system for the game. This is where you can change the reel sounds, turn on/off the bell, set hopper limits, credit limits etc.
Some game chips support multiple TYPE's so you don't always have to change your Game Chip when you change your theme.
Based on the TYPE - Type 0 is no special features, Type 1 is the Nudge games etc. See  https://www.newlifegames.net/spset/gametypes.htm (https://www.newlifegames.net/spset/gametypes.htm)
Like the SS chip This is the SP chip and there is a matching PSR Sheet (Program summary report).

PAR's and PSR's can be found in the download section (available to contributing members only) along with manuals, schematics etc, but if you post that you need one particular document or another some kind member might send it to you. Just keep your profile up to date with a valid email address. In case your wondering 100% of the money collected through memberships goes to pay the hosting bill for this site (bandwidth and storage) and everyone here is a volunteer contributor.

One very strong word of caution - do not leave your machine alone in the dark - much like Gremlins they multiply after midnight.
Something alluring about that BUY IT NOW button occurs after midnight. All your will power is zapped....
Soon you will be looking into linked progressive's (shared jackpots between multiple machines).
Tournament modes for the machines so you can have competition between friends and family.
To this end - I would encourage you to contact the vendors listed on the NLG home for more machines and parts.
None of these people paid for banner ads - they are just the known good ones that treat NLG members right and they are offered a banner for free.
There are a lot of rip off artists - and we do have a buyer beware section on this forum, so don't be afraid to make a post asking about seller x y or z before you commit to a purchase.
