Title: IGT S2000’s any idea?
Post by: Double D on February 21, 2024, 05:25:18 PM
Hello. Not sure where to ask this question but when was the last IGT S2000 produced?   Is there anyway to determine where a machine was used (casino?). My audit showed my machine (Double Diamond) was built approx 2001 and made over $126k during its lifetime. Wonder if any are still out in the wild or did the gaming commissions order them replaced with new technology?

The latest S2000 machine I've seen is 2007. I think that's when they stopped making them, or 2008.
I don't know any way to trace a slot to where it came from. I only know where two of mine came from because I bought direct from a dealer that purchased them from the casino.
$126k over your machines lifetime doesn't sound like much. Your machine was probably cleared after it came out of the casino.
A lot of casinos still keep small banks of S2000 slots for folks that prefer the older style machines. As far as replacing machines with newer technology, I doubt the gaming commissions have any voice in this. It's a matter of casinos stocking what people like to play and keeping up with the changing styles and games.

Every casino out here on the east coast still has a number of S2000's.
You see Double Diamonds still, usually in the 5 reel version.
Not far from me I still see S+ Red, White & Blue Deluxe's playing with quarters only, and Vision machines like "Pink Panther" and "Fishin' For Cash"...  :rotfl:

Stayout, that’s cool!  I would love to see one in the wild and drop a few quarters in it.
