Hi Everybody!
I have a S+ machine with a WBA 12 Bill Validator. It will accept $1 bills all day long but nothing else. Most times when I put in a $10, or $20 bill, it will suck in the bill, but then spit it right back out. Occasionally, it will hesitate before spitting it back out. I followed the steps given by a post here on the Forum and turned ON DIP switches 8, 1,2, and 3; then put the unit in the machine, turned the power on, and turned off pin #8. It did it's staring up noises as usual; and lo and behold! It accepted all the bills... like magic. The bills were sent down to the cash can area (I had taken out the cash can per the posts' instructions). I then turned off the power, brought back all the DIP switches to the default "Off" position, turned the power back on, and once again, all bills except the $1 bills were rejected.
My question is.... what should I make of all this? I tried using the DBV with the switches 1, 2 and 3 on, but the bills got stopped at the top of the cash can, causing a jam. Any suggestions about what I can do to fix this? It is a Double Double Diamond S+, with a WBA 12/13SS V3.75-03i ID023 EEPROM. I have cleaned the money path and the lenses.
Any suggestions appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

Many questions? Did it ever work before? Change a battery? Mess with any settings?
Since it does accept all bills in the stand alone test, the transport is doing what it should be doing. Something is wrong with the machine. Maybe the bill acceptor settings in test 7 are too low,, both should be set to 1000.
How many credits do you get for a dollar bill?

Thank you for your reply! To answer your questions: I don't know if it has worked in the past, as I bought the machine in a "basket case" condition. It gives 4 credits for a $1 bill (That is correct... it is a .25 machine). I have changed out the battery on the MPU, cleaned it up, and put in a new coin comparator. Thank you so much for affirming that the transport is doing what it is supposed to do.... but I had not thought it may be the machine. I will do the self test tonight after I get home from work (I had not thought of that because the WBA initializes and the LEDs all come on, so I thought all was good). I appreciate your input and I'll let you know what happens with the test...

Jim, You are DA MAN! The setting on the machine was set at 600. I changed it to 1000, saved it, closed it up.... tried it... and BAM! Like magic.... it now accepts $1, $10, and $20 (I didn't have any fives or 50's to try). Thank you so much!

Hmm...A $20 bill is only 80 credits, if your denom is set at .25 cents per credit.
The old setting of 600 should have been more than enough to cover it? :scratch-head_2:
Anyway, glad it works. :cool_thumb_up:

Denom must set lower than 25c ???
