I have a S2000 reel machine and I am trying to calibrate the BV. It takes tickets sporadically. I made the calibration strip and changed the Dip switches 5,6,7,8 to on, I think. The 8 is on the left side of the switches and I pushed them down for on, I hope. Is the on position down?
The problem is when I turn the machine on the bezel light does not come on and the BV will not accept the calibration strip. The light came on one time and the strip went in but came right back out. The bezel light started flickering but it would not accept strip again. Do I have the correct switches turned on? Any suggestions as to the problem will be appreciated. :thank_you:

I see your problem.
You need to go to the NLG File System and download the proper Flip Print manual for your particular BV.
You'll know much more calibrating a BV, once you 've read it.

I went to the File System but I am not familiar with it. I can't find the file you referenced. Can you give me a little more help? Al the info I can find on NLG is to make a calibration strip and set dips 5 6,7,8 to on and then turn machine on and insert the strip. As I mentioned before the bezel light doesn't come on..

What BV do YOU have?
A WBA or a DBV-200?
May I suggest upgrading to the MEI Cashflow bill validators for your S2000....much faster bill acceptance and no dip switches to mess with.

I have a WBA. What is the price of a MEI? I did look at the File on calibration and I followed the same.procedure. I am still baffled why the bezel light does not come on. I pulled the Dip switches down and I think that is on.

Remove the transport and head assembly. turn on 5678, reinstall the transport assembly, keep the main front door open, the unit will make a short cycle, insert the paper, it will automatically scan the paper, when done it will return the paper and the bezel light will flash continuously fast or slow, fast means calibration is good, slow is a problem with scanner head, the calibration is complete, remove unit and turn off 5678, reinstall BV unit, close the front main front door

Thank you Tim. I am sure you don't remember me. I bought 2 BVs from you in 2023. I have a question. The #8 is on the left side of the Dip switches. I think I need to pull 5,6,7,8 down to be on and the others up. is that correct?

On a WBA, if dipswitch #8 is on the left side of the bank and up, it is in the OFF position.
If you look closer at the dipswitch bank, you'll see an arrow point to the OFF position for the dips.
The designers intended you to look at them while the whole unit was upside to you'd see the component side of the circuit board.
I just took a photo of mine....of the dips being upside down... :24:

Thank you. I had them down but I wanted to make sure. Mine looks like yours.

Yes 5678 is on the left when looking at them from the side, with the unit in the machine.
