Some flashable WBA 12/13 just wont take the upload. I am turning on dip switches 6.7. & 8 as instructed but keep getting device not ready.
The EPROM is a 27C4001 (0r 040), is that to big for a WBA, some WBA 12/13 will take the update but most just give me device not ready.
What am I doing wrong?

Do you have a serial board on the side of the validator? You would need to remove it if you do. Also only the WBA12 if flashable, the WBA13 is eprom based, so if it has an eprom, you need to program the eprom, prety sure you knew that, but double check. Also verify the baud rate is set to 38,400 on the DT104. Also when I flash mine, I always flip 1, 6, 7, and 8?
-
Maybe it is the baud rate, mine is set at 19k not 38k, I'll try that.
-
If you go to 38K, set switches 1,6,7,8 on.

Are you saying the Eprom for the DT-104 or the Eprom installed in the BV? the DT-104 id used on the WBA12 (Flash) for the WBA13 (Eprom) you need to replace the Eprom
-
I'm not the ninja of knowledge when it comes to BV updates, but wouldn't it be easier to burn the new file to the 27C4001 with an Eprom burner or do the files not come in a BIN format.
-
If it is a WBA12 (Flash) then it has to be Flashed with the file using the DT-104 Tool
If it is a WBA13 (Eprom) then yes change out the Eprom
-
Yes, if there is a EPROM socket then you replace the EPROM - that works in every instance but downloading is necessary if there is no socket and that is where the problem arises with a "device not ready" on some units.
