I believe most 5 reel games are numerical order, left to right. Is that how you have them installed?
-
Yes,
3000- Reel 1
3100- Reel 2
3200- Reel 3
3300- Reel 4
3400- Reel 5
Double Free Spin symbols are on reel 3
-
I hate to even ask, but you're CERTAIN they are aligned properly? And SB is correct? SB101576-101581?
-
Yes the are aligned right ...I have the SB100354 45cr in it right now ..I also have the SB101576 but havent tried that chip yet ...would you know if the strip #'s are right?
-
SB100354 is correct as well, just not as widely used it looks like. The strips almost HAVE to be correct in that order? :Scratch-Head:
What SG chip? Free Spin games need 597s.
-
yes. 597's installed
-
I have that game, post a picture of your strips to confirm you have the right ones.
-
Awesome! Rick will get you fixed up!
-
I will take some pics after work and post later tonight ......Thanks you guys
-
Yes,
3000- Reel 1
3100- Reel 2
3200- Reel 3
3300- Reel 4
3400- Reel 5
Double Free Spin symbols are on reel 3
I have 2700,2800,2900,3000,3100 and use the 1576 for 45 credits.
The free spin symbols are on Reels 1,3,5

Here are my reel strips.

Double Free Spin symbols are on reel 3
Good to see the symbol is on 1,3, and 5. Don't know why your strip numbers differ though. I'm sure it will work out for the best.
-
Those strips are for Double Diamond Free Spins. I don't know if it is the same as double diamond Pennies. I have both, and the strips are the same, though I have only tried double diamond Free spins, and those are the strips for that game. These are mine in the right order. I'm thinking I have the wrong strips for double diamond pennies? Are they clones?
-
Rick,
found this kit that sold on the bay looks like has same strips as you and haywire (unless this is kit you or haywire bought?)
maybe they are clones? I looked at the award glass from this kit and one I have payout looks same (have the double diamond free spin)
Roz has same glass on her site (the free spin) and looks same as this kit payout
be nice to know if truly clones i'm looking for strips
if you need my strip numbers or sb # to help I can get them tonight I know I have 597 gm chips but forgot # of sb
-
Double Diamond Pennies and Double Diamond Bonus are the same game. If you have the right strips and chip then the strips aren't being placed on the indexing mark correctly.
-
I changed the sb chip from 45 to 90 cr and had strips installed from 3000 to 3400 in that order (same as in pic ) all strip notches are alligned with the tabs on the reels (5 reel tabs are alot easier to find than the 3 reel tabs ) getting wierd payouts bar 7 bar ...once hit the 3 free spins symbols (as per the sounds) and 3 single bars were lit up :Scratch-Head: :Scratch-Head: ....so that would mean maybe 1 or more of the strips are not the right #'s .....so how would one know which group of #'s would be the right set for the game to play correctly.

Here are my reel strips.
The picture shows the correct strips. Ricks are in the correct order also. The picture in Bills post are not in the correct order.
If you don't watch the symbols lighting up can you find the correct payout? Maybe the wiring isn't correct on the backlit bulb board?

This could be a possibility .....I changed out the reels, controll board, and harness to led before I installed this game ....can you send me a pic of the wires to the bulb board .....
-
sorry .. i dont have the reels available
-
Thanks Ken,
I will check it out anyway and see if I can spot anything......
-
Have you tried reel lamp test? That should show if hooked up correctly
-
If you have the LED controller, this is the controller board all hooked up. Photo courtesy of Neonman.

I have a question, were there ever any 5 reel slant top machines? If they existed, could he have slant top reel baskets?
-
Rick,
Apparently 5 reel slant top machines do exist..the led harness I have is out of a slant and is messing with the payouts...I put the original BL reel harness and reels back in, and the game plays and pays out as it should. :cool_thumb_up:
Damn slant tops.....
Thanks you guys for all your help :hail:
-
unplug the back lit reel light board and see if the pays are right better hard to mess up order of light wires/ also you can test reel lights in test and see if they light in right order
sorry never saw page 2 of replys

I don't remember for sure but it seems like the slant top reel harness are backwards to an upright. I am not saying this will work but try reversing the order of the reel harness connections. Put 1 in 5 .. 2 in 4 .. 4 in 2 and 5 in 1. Controller board might have to be moved for this to work. The harness may not be long enough.
-
Nothing better than solving a puzzle, glad you got it going. :propeller: :propeller: :propeller:
-
i happen to have on hand both machines and want to confirm a bit of info. the double diamond free spins uses the 2XXXX reels they are the older style 5 reel strips and are skinnier. the double diamond pennies free spins uses the 3XXX strips and is the newer wider ones.
-
I have a double diamond free spins with wide strips go figure.
-
One more thing to verify ....How can you tell if the reels themselves are not out of order ? there isnt anything as far as I can see on the reels to tell you which #'s 1-5 they are....the white plastic number /lock that slips over the bracket at the front of the reels could easily be switched around.
-
The number is only on there so the tech knows which strips goes where. There aren't any physical difference.
-

That's what I thought, but I just wanted to be sure it was the harness thats the problem....Ken I havent tried installing the harness backwards yet ..but I will do that this weekend, its worth a try at least ........
Thanks guys

i have learned never to trust the number on the plastic reel its self. i have seen far too many machines where its missing, mislabeled or all are labeled the same.
-
just found another set of strips the pattern on the strips match the 2XXX and 3XXX strips shown earlier, but the numbers end in
4937 4938 4939 4940 4941 they are not printed the same way as the other 2 sets i have so maybe they are reproduction and the numbers are wrong.
