Title: Darn, it happened again!!! One of my machines "evolved."
Post by: rickhunter on May 25, 2015, 09:47:03 PM
Went to sleep Sunday night with an alpha gamemaker, this evening, I turn on the lights, and this is what I got now. :propeller: :propeller: :propeller:   My gamemaker has gone to another home to make room for this one.

Thanks to Jeremy at gameking slots for having the darn thing available to tempt me.  The machine has a new monitor and it is super clean inside. Didn't have to do anything to it, just plugged and play.  I already figured out how to change the LED colors on the sides of the monitor.  They can be red, green or blue.  Each side can have it's own color, but having one side red and the other side blue, just looked too weird.

LOL!

Super f'n cool Rick! Wish I had vendors in my area that deals with more than IGT machines...lol

Now its tempting to put that A2 conversion to run Triple Trouble, Guacho, and Sea Goddess in that bad boy!

For the side lighting, does it use the same board as the super candle?

Oh! and if you ever figure out how Bally's Wave cabinet runs the dual V22/22 games on a V32 screen, you would be set!

It doesn't use a controller.  It is a molex connector with some wires jumpered.  Basically you change which wires are jumpered and it changes the colors.  I suppose it would be possible to create a 3 position switch to change the colors easier, or maybe even make some sort of arduino based contraption to have the leds change colors at random.

As long as another machine leaves, she doesn't care if one comes in.  I really hated giving up the Game maker, but I think I will have more use out of the V32.  I am going to cross-wire my alpha 2 conversion into it, so I can play Alpha2 V32 titles using the brains from the adjoining machine.  I will run a harness set with vga/serial/single button to the V32.  It should work and shouldn't be too complicated to do.  A lot cheaper than converting the V32 to alpha2, that's for sure.

Well, I cross-wired the cabinets.  I'm basically using the V32 as a keyboard/Monitor combination.  Everything is running on my alpha2 V20/20 to the side with the V32 cabinet just having the monitor and the single repeat bet button connected as well as the touchscreen.  Works really well, because I can sit in front of the V32 and play it as if it were an alpha2 V32 machine.  I will figure out a way to make the wiring a bit less obtrusive, maybe wire it through the sides of the cabinet.

On the first picture you can see the game playing on the V32 monitor and the single lit up repeat-bet button.

On the second picture you can see the rest of the setup, with the super candle going crazy during the bonus round and the ideck's screen lit up.
