Title: IGAME - BASE AND KEY CHIP
Post by: GOS on June 04, 2015, 10:30:21 AM
have an Igame that customer changed battery.  Brought in to me to get running - not sure what board this is so the first question is will a KEY22 work?
next question the BASE chip has a bad leg - ready to break - I should be able to read it on my CQ-4X with enhanced board - can the base be copied to an EPROM - and what speed eprom? I assume it is a 27c4002.   Same question on the key - what speed?

Ok, here's what I have in my notes from Blueridge...looks like you will need a Key 40, as you have the SIMM software, not the flashed.

"Key 28 is ONLY for GK Enhanced Flash Software (044)

Key 22 and Key 40 are the same if using in a 3902 CPU, Key 40 is Correct if using Enhanced CPU (044) with Legacy Adapter for Simm Software."

I agree with what Roz posted.  You will need a key 40.  As far as the speed of the eprom, I've always used 90ns chip, but I've seen 120ns working with no problems.  I wouldn't go slower than 120 though.  And yes you can burn a base chip.

They Key chips are self explanatory.  Just follow the on-screen instructions.
