it takes quarters pay silver dollars should I modify it to take dollars and pay dollars take quarters in pay quarters or should I leave it alone its from Bally distributing in Reno Its a real nice lil 742 a

I'd leave it... It's a JPO machine.. Where do the quarters go, into the over flow in the slot stand, and the hoppers hand filled with dollars?

that would be my guess Gary and it's been modified not to pay very well and I'll include pictures when I rebuild the real Machine people with silver solder should not be allowed in slot machines

Jack pot only. I've seen them mostly in the early 700, 800, & 900 Ballys. Smallest payouts are 10-20 coins, then maybe a 100 & 200 coins. In your case it looks to pay in dollars not coins. JPO machines have only 3 or 4 different symbols on the strips. Unlike a fruit that pays many jackpots and as few as 2 coins. The JPO pays less often but in bigger amounts like hitting a jackpot..
