Title: Bally 6000 bill acceptor doesn't activate
Post by: Jim on August 17, 2015, 10:02:35 AM
Working on a Bally 6000, Blazing Sevens  with a progressive, no hopper installed only bill acceptor(WBA with ID003 software) PSA-66 printer. coin block plate installed, so does not accept coins.  Machine required a clear, which was successful, upon closing the door two beeps were heard and a 31 appeared in the display.  I figured that it was looking for the hopper so I went into the 11d settings and told the machine only pay by printer, the 31 code went away. But now the bill acceptor will not activate(no green lamps to indicate that it ready to accept money) the bill acceptor will go through its purge cycles when powered up.  Is there some settings that have to be changed after a clear in regards to the progressive or ??? ?   sorry I can't give any more information, I don't work on many Bally 6000 machines.

Thanks

Jim

In your Bally 6000 manual see page 2-11 DS2 SW 5 & 6. make sure they are set for your BV.

I think there's a toggle switch on the front of the CPU tray that needs to be in the up position for it to take bills or coins.

also if there is no hopper you need to jumper the plug

Bob,   the switch was in the off position,  flipped it on and the machine accepted the bills.   did not have to jumper the plug, machine worked as advertised, it went into a jackpot pay when cashed out, used reset key to cancel payout and machine went back into the play mode. this machine had a factory made metal guard that hid that switch, so someone couldn't hit it by mistake, had to use a small item to reach behind it and flip the switch.

Thanks for all the replies
